This multi-award-winning glampsite provides a picturesque setting for intimate celebrations of up to 50 guests. The venue combines breathtaking countryside views with luxury accommodation and versatile communal spaces, creating a perfect backdrop for your special day.
Celebrant-led ceremonies or blessings at Penhein can take place anywhere on the site, giving couples complete freedom to choose a location that resonates with their vision. Options include the Wildflower Meadow, which offers sweeping valley views, the elegant stretch marquee known as Chehel Sotoun, or a secluded woodland area.
Receptions can also be hosted in a variety of locations, from the Wildflower Meadow to the spacious stretch marquee equipped with electricity and lighting. For smaller gatherings, the Petro indoor space accommodates up to 30 guests, offering a cosy and versatile option.
Penhein offers eight custom-made alachigh (pronounced ala-cheeg) tents, each blending simplicity with comfort.
Couples can choose to self-cater or hire their preferred suppliers with no corkage fees or commissions. The site includes large firepits, electricity, and water access for caterers. Alternatively, Penhein’s own catering team can create a bespoke menu, or couples can select from a list of local street vendors offering options like wood-fired pizzas, cocktails, and coffee.

Despite its secluded feel, Penhein is well-connected:
Yes, this is possible. We can accommodate up to 70 people on request, but this will require arranging additional camping accommodation (through bell or private camping tents) if necessary. If the extras are day guests only, this is also possible. Extra dining tables, chairs, etc., must also be hired. There will be a small charge per person (per night if camping) for any additional guests above 50 and any extra hire costs.
Although we do not currently have a wedding licence, we are submitting our application to have one in place for 2025. Guests who have previously undergone a legal ceremony or registration at an official, legally recognised location can also have a wedding ceremony at Penhein.
Penhein has a minimum stay of two nights. We often recommend to guests wishing to have their wedding at Penhein to look at booking a three night stay or more to allow time for the setting up process if extra bell tents or other additional requirements are needed. It also allows extra time for decorating the site.
Although we are a 'dry hire', experience shows that it is the case that we are still needed to help with various enquiries and with the on-site set-up. The Administration Fee, therefore, covers our additional time and costs (e.g. liaison with suppliers, ensuring appropriate insurance is in place, extra site visits from the wedding couple and/or suppliers, additional use of utilities for suppliers and campers (electricity, water, etc), mowing of the wildflower meadow for camping and parking, an additional rubbish collection and the provision of a TENs licence if required. We can email our brochure with full details.
Assuming guests prefer to hire the glampsite for a weekend (Friday to Monday), you will have access from 4pm Friday until 11am Monday. If you would like to arrive earlier than 4pm, we are happy to accommodate this for a few people, but we will still be cleaning the site after previous guests have left. If you or your suppliers do not feel you can work to this timetable, it may be worth considering taking the site from the Wednesday before the wedding party. The 4pm/11am check-in/checkout is standard for all our stays.
Each tent has its own 'loo pod' with a flushing toilet. Three tents have a private, enclosed hot shower immediately next to them. There is our wonderful luxurious shower block for the remaining five tents with underfloor heating, monsoon showers, and a Victorian-style rolltop bath, each in its own private cubicle.
