The Setting
Neidpath is just 45 minutes from Edinburgh airport and train station, but feels as rural and beautiful as Scotland can be. Perched on a cliff above the River Tweed, just beside the charming town of Peebles, where there is plenty of extra accommodation for your guests.
The Vibe
Neidpath is a genuine fairytale castle, with vaulted chambers, tapestries, spiral stairs, battlements and even a well and dungeon to explore.
You could have the ceremony in the Laigh Hall or outdoors and then the Wedding Breakfast in the Great Hall, hung with tapestries. The whole castle is open for you and your guests to enjoy, with plenty of great photo opportunities throughout.
Neidpath is very atmospheric, with real candles and roaring log fires lit all over the castle. You can use Queen Mary’s Chamber for the bridal party to get ready in before the ceremony, and after dinner, the Laigh Hall and Guard’s Bar are fabulous for dancing and partying the night away.
You can choose to have their large braziers in the courtyard for chatting around, and there are plenty of quieter spots to have a calm moment away from the main party.
