Set within a family-run organic farm near Filkins, Oxleaze Barn sits amongst rolling Cotswold countryside, surrounded by open farmland, wildflower meadows and wide skies. The venue centres around a collection of carefully restored Cotswold stone barns dating back to the 1700s, where historic character and rural simplicity come together naturally.
A stone-lined driveway leads guests through the farm, while landscaped courtyards, a willow-fringed pond, wildflower areas and a wooded meadow provide a variety of outdoor spaces to explore. Throughout the seasons, the surrounding fields and meadows continually change in colour and texture, creating a setting that feels deeply connected to the countryside.
The Milling Barn provides an atmospheric indoor ceremony space, where exposed timber beams, vaulted ceilings and natural light create a calm and welcoming backdrop for up to 80 guests. For larger ceremonies, the Main Barn can accommodate up to 110 seated guests while retaining the warmth and character of the farm’s original architecture.
Outside, the Walled Garden offers a private setting framed by mature planting and seasonal colour, while the WedShed, positioned within the meadow, places the surrounding countryside at the heart of the experience. With open views across the farm, it provides a relaxed outdoor option.
Following the ceremony, guests can gather in the Courtyard Garden for drinks and canapés amongst the restored stone barns. During warmer months, the gardens and outdoor terraces provide plenty of space to mingle, while the surrounding buildings offer flexibility should the weather change.
For the wedding breakfast, attention turns to the Main Barn. Exposed stone walls, original timber beams and generous proportions create a dining space that feels impressive and inviting.
As celebrations continue, guests can drift back into the courtyard before the Milling Barn becomes the focus of the evening. With space for dancing, live music and entertainment, it provides a lively contrast for your guests.
Located on the farm, the collection of cottages and converted buildings has been carefully restored to reflect the site’s heritage while providing modern comfort throughout. Original features, natural materials and views across fields and gardens reinforce the connection to the surrounding countryside.
For couples, staying on-site allows the day to begin and end within the same setting, creating a relaxed experience without the need to travel between locations. Guests benefit from being within walking distance of the ceremony and reception spaces, making the accommodation particularly well-suited to wedding weekends where friends and family can gather before and after the main celebration.
Food and drink at Oxleaze Barn are provided exclusively by Ross & Ross, the award-winning Cotswold catering company known for seasonal ingredients, thoughtful hospitality and highly personalised menus.
Rather than working from a fixed package, the team collaborates closely with each couple to create a menu that reflects the celebration’s style and atmosphere. Whether that’s a formal wedding breakfast, relaxed sharing feasts or seasonal dishes inspired by the time of year, every menu is designed around individual preferences.
Ingredients are sourced with care, drawing inspiration from the agricultural heritage of the surrounding Cotswolds and working with trusted local suppliers wherever possible. Drinks receive the same attention, with couples able to curate wines, signature cocktails, local ales and bespoke drinks menus to complement the day.
Sustainability is part of everyday life at Oxleaze Barn and is closely linked to the farm that surrounds it.
The venue sits within a family-run organic farm where regenerative farming practices, biodiversity and environmental stewardship remain central to the way the land is managed. Wildflower meadows, organically farmed fields, and wildlife habitats support pollinators and encourage a thriving natural ecosystem year-round.
The restoration of the historic barns reflects the same philosophy. Existing agricultural buildings have been carefully repurposed, preserving their heritage while reducing the environmental impact associated with new development.
Couples can also incorporate farm-produced details into their celebrations. Honey produced by bees that forage across the farm can be provided as wedding favours, while natural petal confetti grown on-site offers a thoughtful alternative to imported products.
Located between Filkins, Eastleach and Southrop, Oxleaze Barn is surrounded by some of the most recognisable villages in the Cotswolds. Honey-coloured stone cottages, village pubs and winding country lanes create the character that has made this area so loved by visitors and locals alike.
Nearby market towns, including Burford, Lechlade and Fairford, provide additional places to explore, from independent shops and historic streets to riverside walks and traditional inns. For guests extending their stay, the wider area offers countless opportunities to experience the Cotswolds at a slower pace, whether that’s walking through the countryside, discovering local food and drink or exploring neighbouring villages.
The venue’s position on the Gloucestershire-Oxfordshire border places many of the region’s highlights within easy reach, making it an ideal base for a wedding weekend.
Now that we’re back from our honeymoon, we wanted to send a huge thank you for everything you did for our wedding. You were truly wonderful and kept us feeling so calm; we are so grateful for your support leading up to the day and for being so attentive throughout the event itself.
We’re both back at work this week (sadly!), though we’d much rather still be in our “wedding bubble.”

Thank you so much for everything you have done for Alfie and me, from start to finish on our wedding journey, you have been there to support us, and the wedding day was the most perfect ever! Everyone’s hard work was a big part of that.
Oxleaze has such a personal, friendly and welcoming vibe, starting with you, but extending across the whole team. Each detail was given so much thought, and it was noticed by everyone. It was professional, but also so relaxed, and we weren’t worried about anything before the day and knew it would be exactly as we wanted.
Especially both you and Rosie going above and beyond (from saving us some food in the lodge and helping with my dress, announcements and our little details on the day, to creating a personal birthday breakfast for Alfie and our family the day after).
We will literally never forget it.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for making our wedding day so fantastic. We had the most amazing day and so appreciate all your help with everything. The venue looked stunning, the accommodation was beautiful, and the catering was superb. You even managed to order the rain to stay away for our ceremony, it really was a perfect day.
