The house is set in 1,500 acres of gorgeous Somerset countryside in the village of North Cadbury. Steeped in British history yet relaxed and incredibly comfortable, the house features stunning wood-panelled rooms, cosy lounges, huge fireplaces, and sweeping staircases. From small ceremonies in the North Hall to elaborate affairs in the Ballroom and with a church next door, or the option to have a celebrant in the gardens, you are free to choose the wedding you want your way.
The Montgomery family, whose family home it has been for more than 100 years, have created a comfortable, warm environment emphasising fun and enjoyment with no set packages, no corkage and no late-night curfew in the basement disco and casino. Perfect for when you’re looking for the charm and elegance of a country house setting and the best celebration of your life with those you love!
Their experienced events team will guide you with catering, flowers, music, entertainment, and activities and will be on-site to oversee everything on the big day. Two evening managers will also be on hand to look after your guests late into the evening.
Civil ceremonies take place either in the large, airy Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 200 guests, or the cosy, wood-panelled North Hall, which can accommodate up to 150 guests. The North Hall is ideal for a grand entrance from the oak staircase.
Pretty St Michael’s Church is next door, with a private entrance to the grounds. The team can happily assist with applying to have your wedding there.
Outdoor weddings are just the best here, with several popular options – in the garden gazebo, by the lake, or on the lawns close to the house.
After the ceremony, their attractive lawns and terrace provide the perfect backdrops for drinks receptions. Indoors, the Morning Room, Library, and North Hall all offer spaces for drinks and canapés whilst your guests mingle with a glass of bubbly, and you are welcome to use a marquee.
The Ballroom seats 150, and the North Hall seats 80 for wedding breakfasts. Afterwards, dance the night away in any of these rooms or the basement disco. Then, become a high roller in the fully stocked cellar casino!
The house is sumptuous and truly historic, yet also a place where you can relax and feel totally at home. The main house has two floors of beautiful bedrooms, each totally unique with stunning decor, featuring fabulous four-poster beds, antique furnishings, and art.
Up to 80 guests can stay in the main house and coach house cottages, with extra accommodation in the private yacht club and funky modern annexe. There are glamping options on the grounds for extra guests
North Cadbury Court is easily accessible by road and train from London and the rest of the South West. If arriving by air, the Court is one hour by road from Bristol and Exeter and one hour and 45 minutes from London Heathrow.
I just wanted to feedback on how amazing the weekend was for us and our guests, who were in awe of the venue and the ease of everything at the wedding. The venue, staff and support from Georgia completely surpassed our expectations and made the whole weekend so straight forward. Everyone maxed out use of all the facilities and had the best time ever. I’m so glad we chose NCC as our venue, as it was just perfect for what we wanted. Thanks so much again to the team for making everything throughout the whole weekend so fun and easy. Planning when we will be able to come back and redo it all again!

We are now back from honeymoon and sadly re-entering real life. Before the wedding becomes a distant memory we wanted to say a huge thanks to you both for all the help in the build-up and during the wedding weekend – we are thrilled with how everything went and couldn’t have done it without you both (and your team). We noticed when booking NCC that a lot of the reviews/feedback commented on how the staff really made it the perfect venue and went over and above with everything – and having now experienced it we couldn’t agree more, your support, experience, flexibility and attitude/approach throughout was hugely important to making it a success and really appreciated. Our guests have also been raving about the venue – we have already discussed (semi-seriously) whether to come back at some point in the future for a milestone birthday/anniversary!

We have a good list of wonderful suppliers we trust to do a great job for you and who cover a variety of budgets. It is much easier for everyone if you use a caterer who already knows the house and the facilities. If you wish to bring your own caterer for the wedding breakfast, this would need to be discussed with the Events Team, and a face-to-face meeting arranged, plus a small fee paid. Food vans are very popular and low-fuss.
Access is from noon, and departure is at 2pm. You would need to rent the house for a minimum of two nights to complete the set-up the day before the ceremony and allow all of the suppliers to deliver the furniture, food, drinks, and decor and set up the house. This also lets you relax and know that guests have arrived before the big day so you can focus on enjoying yourselves.
Our estate can accommodate 80 guests. Our coach house cottages are outside the main gates and can sleep another 30 people across four cottages. Our East Wing flat is within the main house and could accommodate up to seven guests in three small doubles and a single with two bathrooms. This is an optional extra for £475 a night. We also have a yacht club near our lake, which can sleep another two people in a king-sized bedroom overlooking the lake for £175 per night.
It includes exclusive use of the main house, grounds, and all facilities and equipment. The main house has 21 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms, enough to sleep 41 adults. We have extra beds available to hire in the main house and additional accommodation to bolt on as above, enough to accommodate up to 80 guests sleeping on site.
We have no one permanently based on site and no receptionist or security guard, but we are just a phone call away, and staff will be on call to help if there's an issue. On your arrival day and as part of the house rental, a member of the events team would greet you and ensure you have everything you need for a successful stay. If you are having a wedding, you will have one of our experienced Event Managers who will be there on the wedding day to ensure everything runs smoothly. On the evening of any function, there will be two Evening Managers in the background to ensure everyone in the house is safe and happy. After that, it really depends on how much help you need during your stay or how much you want to do yourselves.
Events should start closing down with music, dancing, and entertainment on the ground, upper floors, and outside, finishing at midnight. Our basement disco and casino have no time limit, so you can party until dawn.
