Newton Surmaville Estate sits on the border of Somerset and Dorset, surrounded by 63 acres of private grounds. The estate features four reception rooms, a bar room, a formal dining space, a breakfast room, a home gym, a studio, a cinema, and a large games room. Guests can enjoy paddleboarding on the water, try the golf driving range, or follow walking routes that wind through the estate and the surrounding countryside.
Newton Surmaville is in the process of securing a license to allow legal on-site ceremonies in the future. However, blessing and celebrant-led ceremonies are very welcome.
Receptions for larger groups would require a marquee, and several potential locations are available within the grounds. The wedding planner can discuss these. The house itself may be used for smaller celebrations, with the formal dining room accommodating up to 20 guests.
The estate offers exclusive hire, with nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It sleeps up to 20 for family groups or up to 16 for couples.
Breakfast is included daily. The estate’s team can arrange catering for additional meals, whether that’s a private chef or larger-scale event catering. Drinks can also be provided at an additional cost.
Newton Surmaville is near the Jurassic Coast and cities like Exeter, Bristol, and Wells. The surrounding countryside offers walking routes and day trip opportunities to towns including Sherborne, Ilminster and Crewkerne. The team can help with recommendations.
The estate is just 2.5 hours from Heathrow by car and 2 hours and 20 minutes from London Waterloo by train. Yeovil Junction station is a short drive away. The Newton Surmaville team can support transport arrangements.
