Marden Park Mansion

From the moment we looked round Marden Park Mansion, we knew it was special and the ideal place in which to have our wedding reception. As practising Catholics, as are so many of our guests, we were blown away by the history and beautiful interior of the mansion. The staff couldn’t do enough for us in the preparations leading up to the big day and it was always very easy to get in touch with Faye to make any tweaks to our plans and to ask the umpteen questions we had!

The location is spectacular and everyone commented on the beauty of the grounds and the time in which they had to explore them in between eating, drinking and dancing! Many of our guests have said how amazing the food was, especially the trio of lamb. Everyone was so at ease, which is what we wanted on our wedding day. Having the whole mansion, ensured people could move around freely and it was great for both the party animals as well as those who wanted some quiet time in the lounge/bar area.

We cannot speak more highly of Woldingham School and would highly recommend it to our friends as being a wonderful venue for a wedding.

The layout of the venue is perfect. The reception room is beautiful, light and leaves a lasting first impression. The wedding breakfast room was beautifully spread so you can see everyone from the top table, while remaining spacious. The evening room has great acoustics and is a fantastic space for dancing. The gardens are stunning – perfect for photographs and for guests to spend time in away from the main house. Importantly, the space available is so great and of such quality that if the weather isn’t perfect on your special day, you and your guests will have plenty of space to enjoy each other’s company without being crammed in, as is so often the case with other venues. I can’t speak highly enough of the food. The meal and buffet were both absolutely amazing. The serving staff were fantastic and you got the impression that the people helping you organise couldn’t do enough to help you.

Now the dust has settled we just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the Woldingham team – our wedding day was everything we wanted it to be. We’ve had so many kind words since the big day, our guests absolutely loved the venue, the food and the service. You were so supportive throughout the planning and did everything you could for us on the day. As cliché as it sounds it really was the best day of our lives and we’ve made some fantastic memories and we have you to thank.

The staff were always professional, approachable, friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the day so much and were super relaxed knowing it was all in hand. The beautiful venue speaks for itself and looks wonderful anytime of the year. We saw it in the pouring rain in January and loved it. All our guests said it was a fantastic venue and amazing food. Some said it was one of the best meals they’d ever had, especially the vegetarians. The kids were so well catered for at the venue and the parents really had a chance to relax. We had a ball. It was everything we hoped for and more.

It was the perfect balance of beautiful outdoor space but pretty enough inside that you aren’t reliant on the gardens if the weather isn’t as planned! It was great to move from room to room and not have to worry about changeover of rooms. We had our ceremony at the venue too and the amount of space on offer was great. The catering service was excellent and many of our guests commented how great they were. The price was really reasonable compared to other venues we looked at.

The venue is absolutely fantastic. Being able to have either a civil or religious ceremony on the same site makes it really easy. Having separate rooms for food, dancing and bar works really well. The gardens are extensive and beautiful – we got so many gorgeous photos including on our engagement shoot. The outdoor terrace is perfect for a summer evening, but it was reassuring to know we’d be fine staying inside if it did rain on the day. The food was exquisite. Everyone commented on how great the food was. The staff were all very professional and nothing was too much trouble. What you don’t see listed is the amazing level of service from when you book to the day and what the team do behind the scenes on the day. This all meant our families could enjoy the day rather than worrying about logistics. So overall it is very reasonable. We really hope we can have another event there it was so good!

I had complete confidence in the Marden Park Team, so when I arrived back for the wedding, it was all very smooth and stress-free.
It was stress-free having all the catering part of the venue, with a great range of options, delicious food and fantastic service. The biggest selling point for us was the space itself. Set inside a beautiful old manor house with lots of character with large gardens for beautiful photos.

You can have every confidence that your wedding will be fabulous and well run at Woldingham! The mansion house and gardens are exquisite, really, and only a visit shows them in their true glory, so do visit! The flow of the house works well throughout the day and the gardens offer stunning photo opportunities and a lovely patio for your guests. Our guests didn’t tire of telling us how good the food was. The roast potatoes were truly scrumptious! The staff on the day were friendly, helpful, warm and very professional and make your day run smoothly.

The venue is perfect for all weather. Despite getting married in August, we did have rain, but with Marden Park Mansion, there are so many different areas, from the drinks reception room to the large wedding breakfast room and then a separate room for dancing and another room for the bar with sofas. So much space for everyone to dance, eat, sit and talk without all being stuck in the same one room all day long.

The grounds are beautiful, but the interior is also gorgeous which was very important for us as we were having a February wedding, and couldn’t rely on the weather. It did rain all day, but there were plenty of locations for photographs to be taken of us, the wedding party and all the guests inside. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was.

Marden Park Mansion’s team was so personal, compared to other venues we had visited before I felt really taken care of. We were able to set up the day before and come over the next day to collect, there wasn’t an immediate rush.
