The Setting
Lower House Farm is a regenerative farm and venue in the Olchon Valley, Herefordshire. Set amongst seventy acres of unspoilt landscapes, ancient woodlands, narrow streams, wildflower meadows and even their own waterfall!
On the farm, there are plenty of spaces inside and out for you to plan your day. At the heart of the farm stands their stone and oak-framed barn, a wonderful space for feasting and celebrating. Outside, you’ll find their covered yard, large open meadows with a 600-year-old oak tree (a favourite for ceremonies), communal patios, and orchards. If you need time for an intimate moment, escape into the wilderness for a while.
However you want to celebrate, the farm is yours. A beautiful blank canvas to plan your perfect day.
The Vibe
Lower House Farm believes in your vision. This family-run team offers a flexible approach, allowing you to personalise the venue and bring your dream wedding to life. With a dedicated wedding coordinator, they can provide as much or as little support as you desire, putting you in the driver’s seat of your wedding planning journey.
Exclusive to you, the beautifully restored 17th-century barn with vaulted ceilings, flagstone floors, and oak timber beams can accommodate to feast on long wooden tables with sheepskin-adorned benches. Once transformed for the evening, it can accommodate 120 guests for feasting and 150 guests to party the night away.
Your wedding feast will be cooked in the wood-fired outdoor kitchen using home-raised meat and in-house veg from the farm’s allotment. While your guests mingle, they can watch the kitchen magic happen and enjoy wafts of succulent joints of meat and charred seasonal veg being prepared.
Take a stroll to the secret waterfall, play lawn games in the huge field bordering the Olchon River, have photos with the dramatic mountain backdrop, and even toast marshmallows around the firepit come sunset-a wildly beautiful space to host a day to remember.
Camp near the river (sleeps 50) or book a stay at their nearby country farmhouse, Old Great Marlborough, sleeping 22.
