Logie Country House is an exclusive-use 1680s Scottish castle wedding venue and country estate in the heart of Aberdeenshire.
With 17/18 bedrooms sleeping 50 guests (excluding cot beds and camp beds), it offers the entire house for a three-day weekend wedding or a two-day midweek wedding, with the option to add an extra night. There is an indoor pool, two hot tubs, grand reception rooms, open fires, two kitchens, cosy snugs and two courtyards. The house was completely restored in 2009, so it is warm and cosy in the winter. The wedding venue is set in ancient woodland and has a salmon river running across the front lawn, with its own private island.
There is ample local accommodation; the train station is 6 miles away, and Aberdeen airport is 20 minutes away. It even has a helipad on the lawn!
Logie Country House offers a wonderful choice of ceremony settings, indoors and out. Couples can marry in the air-conditioned ballroom, in either of the two courtyards, beside the river, in the ancient woodland, or in the grand reception rooms of the main house. As an exclusive-use venue, the whole estate is private, so couples are free to choose the setting that suits them. The venue holds a civil ceremony licence, and religious ceremonies can also be accommodated.
The purpose-built, air-conditioned ballroom seats up to 160 day guests for the wedding meal, with capacity for up to 180 guests in the evening. It overlooks the lawns with views of the Bennachie hills and the River Urie. For smaller, more intimate celebrations, the dining and drawing rooms of the main house host up to 50 guests. In-house caterers Hudsons provide the wedding catering, and there are no minimum guest numbers.
The entire house sleeps up to 50 overnight guests across 17/18 bedrooms (17 purpose-built bedrooms plus a snug that converts to a further bedroom). Each room is individually styled, warm and comfortable, blending period character with modern comforts. As the booking is exclusive-use, the couple and their guests have the whole house to themselves. Couples can also add an extra night before the wedding to enjoy more time together before the celebrations begin.
Wedding catering at Logie Country House is provided by award-winning in-house caterers Hudsons, who have over 20 years’ experience. They cater for every dietary requirement and style, from formal multi-course meals to relaxed buffets and self-served BBQs, and can create everything from Scottish menus to Indian, Thai and beyond. Couples may bring their own alcohol, with a reasonable corkage that covers staff, serving, glass hire and clearing. Bar prices are comparable to a good pub, and there are no hidden extras.
Sustainability has been part of the estate’s approach since the house was rebuilt in 2006. The house and ballroom are insulated well beyond standard, with efficient underfloor heating, double glazing and lime render to help the building breathe.
Heating comes primarily from a timber-burning boiler fuelled by wind-blown timber from the estate, with solar panels, battery storage and a green energy tariff helping the estate generate more electricity than it uses. Low-energy LED lighting, smart controls and energy-efficient systems further reduce consumption.
The estate also recycles extensively, harvests rainwater, treats its own wastewater, uses eco-friendly cleaning products and provides EV charging points. Plastic confetti, Chinese lanterns and fireworks are not permitted, while thousands of native trees are due to be planted.
Set in the countryside near Pitcaple, in the Royal Burgh of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, this exclusive-use venue is surrounded by Scottish history and scenery. Inverurie, the nearest town, offers shops, restaurants and plenty of local accommodation for guests, while Bennachie, the River Urie and the city of Aberdeen are all within easy reach.
Just 16 miles from Aberdeen, Aberdeen International Airport is around 20 minutes away by car, and the nearest railway station is 6 miles from the venue. There is ample parking on the estate, and the house even has a helipad on the lawn for a truly memorable arrival.
What Tim and Stef have created at Logie can only be described as a masterpiece. We’re confident there is no other venue in Scotland that offers what Logie does. Our guests were in awe of the accommodation from the moment they arrived. The freshly lit fire and two-storey-high Christmas tree dominating the foyer set the tone for the rest of our stay. The entire house feels like a home from home, with four generations of family in attendance from one year old to mid 80’s. Everyone found their spot within minutes of arriving. The children had an absolute blast exploring the building and running around freely while the parents could relax, knowing they were in safe surroundings.
From the outset we knew we didn’t want the traditional wedding, preferring to go for more of a relaxing family getaway vibe and Gillian couldn’t have been more accommodating with our requests. She offered encouragement when we were unsure if our ideas would work and also putting forward suggestions to help create the wedding we had hoped for.
The house caters for everyones needs with enough little nooks for those who enjoy some quiet time while other rooms are large enough to allow groups to gather. With 12 kids in attendance the indoor pool was a massive hit, and a great excuse for the adults to have a splash too! The two large hot tubs were more than adequate for everyone to find warmth in the cold January air.
Hudsons catered our whole wedding day including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Having looked up Hudsons prior to our wedding, we expected the food to be good, and what they provided far surpassed our expectations. We received so many great comments from our guests about how good the food was and the quantities were very generous too.
Being an exclusive-use venue, you truly have the place to yourselves. After a warm welcome from Tim and Stef and a quick rundown of the safety information they offered their best wishes and departed leaving us to settle in and prepare for our guests arriving. On the day of the wedding Gillian had everything under control and we had very little to worry about, staff was kept to a minimum which really helped provide the homely family feel we had hoped for.
Stef approaches everything with a personal touch from the first moment of contact, she manages to make you feel more like a friend than a customer. Logie country house isn’t your typical wedding venue, it offers a unique opportunity to spend quality time with those you hold closest while hosting the wedding you desire, whatever that wedding may be.
Married January 2024
We were lucky enough to get married at Logie Country House, January 2020. This was the the most amazing weekend of our life. The house is perfect for all family and friends to get together. It has everything you need to make your wedding a special weekend rather than special day. Gillian and her team were perfect and ensured everything ran smoothly on the day. The Hudson’s catering was better than we could have hoped for. Having been to many weddings this was by the best food we have had at a wedding.
Thank you SOOOOOOOOOO much for everything you and the whole Hudson’s/Logie team have done for us. We had such an amazing day/weekend, enjoyed every second. Everything went so well and without hiccups from start to finish. In hindsight, I have no idea what I was worrying and stressing about.
Everyone has been commenting on the great and smooth running of the day as well as the exceptional service. From the outset you made us feel so comfortable and you even managed to reassure me that things will go as planned and not to worry too much.
We got married at Logie Country House this past weekend and I can honestly say that we had the best weekend of our lives, in large part down to the incredible way Logie have (a) structured the venue and most importantly (b) Gillian, Stef, Tim, Cyndi and the rest of the Logie/Hudson’s crew who make it all so slick and perfect. First the venue – Logie is somewhere you can spend a whole weekend with your family and bridal party, rather than just one day. There’s space for guests to stay over, an amazing bridal suite, a pool, hot tubs and everything else you could possibly need. You need to have a tour to get the feel for this. While the venue looks amazing, it doesn’t feel pretentious and there’s this super chilled vibe that made it feel like home for us. Secondly, the wedding itself – Gillian runs a tight ship, in a fantastic way!! In the run up, she is there to keep track of everything going on, give you tips from the major down to the minuscule (which are SO helpful) and on the day she just keeps everything running on schedule and maintains a level of calm which is much needed! The Hudsons’ staff are equally as ‘on it’ and kind and they work with you to get things sorted if there are any hiccups even when it’s not even slightly their domain. The food was incredible and there portions huge (I just felt bad that the top table were barely eating anything!!) We feel so lucky to have had Gillian and the team to keep everything running smoothly and look after us and our guests so well. We could not recommend Logie any higher as a place to have your perfect wedding weekend and also think (having looked at a number of other venues in the area) it is quite reasonably priced given everything you get! If you are in any doubt as to whether to choose Logie as your venue, just book it – you will not regret it!
My wife and I needed to get away for a couple of days as my wife is sick and I wanted to make this a special occasion, our 26th Wedding Anniversary. The best words to describe Logie Country House would be a little piece of magic. As soon as you enter the huge house you feel the warmth and calmness descend upon this fabulous setting. Once you have relaxed into the luxurious settings then can I suggest the indoor heated pool, hot tubs or cinema room?
Log fires, giant Christmas tree opulence and luxury at every turn without making you feel as if you cant touch anything! Logie House would make an ideal Wedding Venue anytime but especially in the present time of micro weddings, either within the main house which has several function rooms, endless cosy bedrooms or extending out into the Ballroom and bar.
The grounds of Logie House are magical, looking out of the bedroom windows onto the river and flood lit island provokes a sense of an age gone. Thanks to Steff and Tim for this wonderful opportunity to make my wife feel like a princess again, which she continues to mention, so we may be back soon!
My wife and I were fortunate enough to marry at Logie Country House and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Literally the best day of our lives. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, set in beautiful grounds and with all the amenities you could ever hope for. The owners – Stef and Tim – are wonderful people and couldn’t have been more welcoming and understanding. From the first time we met we felt perfectly at ease and knew this was the place we wanted to get married. Gillian – the Events Manager – is an absolute star and gave so much help and support not only on the day of our wedding but in the months leading up to it. From the outset we wanted a wedding which felt intimate and personal to us, which we could tailor exactly the way we wanted it and Logie Country House enabled us to do precisely that. We wouldn’t have changed a single thing and are very grateful to Stef, Tim, Gillian and all the staff for helping us have the wedding of our dreams.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the hard work you put into the planning of our big day, we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day and have to also compliment Hudsons staff who were also fantastic, polite and organised the whole day! It was a great idea to have the drinks reception outside, still can’t believe the day we got! Please also pass on our compliments to Hudsons, food was amazing.
I could really go on and on, we’re both really missing Logie House itself, really was an amazing place, all our guests have been raving about it.
I cannot put into words how incredible this venue is! We had the house from Friday to Monday, and everyone had the best weekend. Big shout out to Lila for coordinating our special day. It went perfectly, and we wouldn’t change a thing. If you are looking for a venue that will give you lots of benefits such as a pool, jacuzzi, a 3-night stay, etc, then Logie is the one. The lovely Stef showed us around when we went to see the venue for the first time, and we immediately knew it was the one for us. Everything was so well planned, everyone was so helpful, and the staff were just amazing. Not to mention the very reasonable bar prices!
Married April 2024
We had the most incredible weekend of our entire lives. It was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Thank you so much for hosting us. Logie is truly magical. The hospitality from you and Tim was absolutely incredible, and Tim dealt with the fire alarm in such good humour; we really appreciated this. You have really thought of everything and as someone who previously worked in a wedding venue in Glasgow, what you do at Logie is superior to anything I’ve ever seen. The genuine passion and attention to detail that you and your staff have is second to none and attracted us to the venue within seconds of our first showing. The facilities and rooms were incredible, with the advice that you gave us really helping us have the best time. We’ve joked about it but would love to do it all again if we can, and if we are lucky enough to make it to 10 years, we would love to come back and have our 10-year wedding anniversary at Logie.
Married February 2024
We got married here in November and can’t fault it. The venue was absolutely beautiful and Stef and Gillian were so nice! Gillian was especially helpful with our constant questions and can’t thank her enough for helping us pull off an amazing day. It was great having the venue for 3 nights as we got to relax on the last day with all our closest friends and family after the hectic lead up. I spent most of my time relaxing in the hot tub under the twinkling lights or in the swimming pool. As it was winter I was worried the venue would be really cold but it wasn’t at all and was amazing having a drink with the fire roaring. Hudson’s catered for us on our wedding day and the next day for a Christmas theme dinner and the food was unbelievable. Hudson even managed to make Zurek, a Polish soup, for us which was delicious and really impressed my husband! Couldn’t recommend Logie enough.
My wife and I got married at Logie Country House in early September and from start to finish is was total perfection. The owners of the venue and the event manager were incredibly friendly and helpful without being overbearing and were just great. You really are given run of the house while you’re there and their staff wont be around unless you need something specific, which was great as it really allowed us to settle in and be ourselves. The wedding itself was perfectly executed with all possible details accounted for, and having a dedicated event manager (who came with the booking) who’s so knowledgable with the venue and the caterers made such an incredible difference and took a huge weight off my wife and I’s shoulders. If you’re looking for a stunning wedding venue with an incredible staff and value, look no further.
