Lincoln’s Inn offers two very different historic halls for wedding ceremonies, allowing couples to choose a setting that suits both the scale and character of their celebration.

The Great Hall is the larger of the two, with capacity for between 130 and 250 guests. Opened by Queen Victoria, the Victorian hall has soaring vaulted ceilings, stained-glass windows and dramatic stonework.

For smaller gatherings, the Old Hall offers a more intimate setting for 75 to 110 guests. Dating back to 1490, this Tudor hall has hosted feasts and royal banquets throughout its history and still retains many period details today.

Both the Great Hall and Old Hall can take celebrations beyond the ceremony and into dinner and the evening.

The Great Hall accommodates 130 to 250 guests, with space for the wedding breakfast, followed by an evening party and dancing. Its scale, vaulted ceiling and stained glass provide an impressive backdrop as the day moves from formalities into celebration.

The Old Hall offers a different proposition for 75 to 110 guests. With almost 600 years of history within its walls, it brings a warmer, more intimate character to the wedding breakfast and reception. Beyond the halls, Lincoln’s Inn’s gardens and terraces add another dimension to the day, particularly for couples keen to make the most of the estate’s outdoor spaces.

Food and drink are handled by Lincoln’s Inn’s in-house banqueting team, with its chefs responsible for menus across the events held within the estate.

For weddings, couples are served a three-course meal prepared by the Inn’s award-winning chefs, accompanied by canapés and wines selected from its cellars. With catering managed in-house, the dining experience forms part of the wider Lincoln’s Inn offering rather than being brought in separately.

This approach suits the surroundings: dinner beneath the historic architecture of the Great Hall or Old Hall, with the food, wine, and setting coming together around the table.
