The Kings Head Hotel is located in the heart of Cirencester, right on the marketplace. St John Baptist church is almost directly opposite the hotel, making it incredibly easy for wedding guests to find after the ceremony if you are to choose a church ceremony.
There are plenty of public car parks within a short walk of the hotel, a train station just a 15-minute drive away, and local airports within a short drive.
Although they only have a roof terrace for outdoor space (a sun trap!), the Abbey Grounds are just behind the church, offering green space for any outdoor photographs you might like on your wedding day. Cirencester Park is just a short walk down the historic and picturesque Black Jack Street.
A historic venue with modern and unique spaces available for your celebrations.
Whether you are looking for an intimate celebration, a lavish wedding reception or a lively evening party in the cellars, the Kings Head Hotel is the perfect backdrop for your wedding day.
The contemporary décor complements any colour scheme, while the original historic features, including oak flooring, wood panelling, and brick fireplaces, offer stunning photo opportunities at every turn.
Their grand Assembly Room can accommodate up to 150 people for a sit-down meal, and their unique Vaulted Cellar space can accommodate 150 people for the perfect party room. Their more intimate spaces are by no means lacking in character, with options available to suit everyone’s taste.
Their Wedding Manager will work with you to ensure your day is exactly as you imagine, individually designed to perfectly reflect you as a couple. From exciting canapés to delicious dishes and fantastic wine, they will help you make lasting memories with your loved ones.
Whilst they are delighted to be fully licensed to hold your civil ceremony, they tend not to assume that you will do this at the hotel, especially with a beautiful Cotswold church within a stone’s throw of the hotel. Therefore, a civil ceremony isn’t included in the price and can be quoted for.
Their Vaulted Spa offers a tranquil space for pre-wedding pampering or post-wedding relaxation.
From beginning to end, we were treated with the most attention and care. Daisy met us with the warmest welcome, and we instantly felt at ease with her and not under any pressure, unlike other venues we visited. We received a detailed tour of the hotel, and Daisy answered any questions we had. We fell in love with the hotel instantly.
We only had six months to plan our special day, and Daisy made everything so easy for us.
Finally, our day came, and what an incredible day it was. The hotel rooms were fantastic, the food was fantastic, and the ceremony room was incredible. At no point did we have any worries or concerns, everything went so smoothly thanks to Daisy and the staff.
The evening party held in the cellar was a major hit with all of our guests, and we loved every minute of our day, I wish we could do it all again. Thank you for making our day so wonderful and for giving us the best memories.

My goodness… where do I start with this glorious venue? I found this venue completely by accident and instantly knew it was the perfect place to get married. From start to finish, Daisy (the most wonderful wedding coordinator!) was there to help answer questions, deal with the bridezilla, and generally be amazing.
As a person who manages hospitality and hosts weddings myself, food and service have always been a big worry for me for my own day – I needed it to be perfect…somehow it was even better than we could imagine. The food was simply amazing. (One guest messaged me a week later to let me know he is still dreaming about the beef cheeks. It was that good!). We made a few little tweaks to some dishes, which was no problem at all for the team, and the service (headed by Daisy) was impeccable and faultless. The hotel should be very proud of the team they have. They are all an asset to the company. Wow. Thank you to all of you!
As for the venue – it is the best of both worlds. We had our ceremony and wedding breakfast in the assembly rooms – perfectly elegant and beautiful and the evening down in the vaulted cellars, the perfect space for live music/wedding DJ.
Honestly, if you’re looking for somewhere where you can host an entire wedding but still be a little different, this is one hundred percent the space for you. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.
Thank you Daisy and thank you team.

Our wedding at the Kings Head Hotel was an absolute dream!
Daisy was absolutely amazing. It wouldn’t have been possible without her. Daisy was so helpful; nothing was too much. She made sure everything was exactly the way we wanted, and it was perfect for us!
She was like a friend to me, helping me when I was getting stressed and answering all my questions, even the silly little ones! On the day, Daisy kept me calm and talked me through everything. Daisy and her team made the room look beautiful for the wedding breakfast, even better than I could have hoped for! Everyone worked so hard to ensure we had the best day possible!
We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and team for our wedding, and we 100% recommend the King’s Head for the perfect wedding!

We cannot rate The Kings Head highly enough!
We used the intimate package as COVID restrictions were still in place but looking back I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The wine cellar was perfect for our wedding breakfast. Having drinks on the terrace after the ceremony was also so wonderful.
Not only were the rooms and location great, the whole day was so relaxed and beautiful which I think was down to the excellent staff. The wedding coordinator was great making sure that everything ran smoothly and ensuring all the finer details were covered. She really took all the stress away. The team on the day were fab, they really looked after us.
Prior to the wedding, due to covid, we thought we would have a ‘good’ day but it was honestly the best day and we couldn’t have hoped for more! Would highly recommend this as a venue for others!
The Kings Head is a beautiful, character-filled wedding venue with lots of ceremony and evening rooms to choose from. We picked it because we had stayed in the hotel before and it had special memories for us, but also because of the amazing quality food and the beautiful rooms allowing our guest to stay on site. It was also reasonably priced for the size of wedding we had. The team were brilliant running through everything with us the day before and helping make last minute tweaks and ensured everything ran smoothly on the day.
We loved every minute of our perfect winter wedding at the Kings Head Hotel.
From the very beginning, Daisy was wonderful, very responsive to queries and guided us through the whole process. We used many of her recommended suppliers and could see why they were so highly thought of, but we were also able to use our own suppliers, which not every venue allows.
We opted to have our ceremony and wedding breakfast in the Assembly Room, which has a nice, elegant wedding feel. We were a little nervous that the bar space outside of the Assembly Room would be a little crowded during the drinks reception, but for our numbers (50-60), it was ideal. We were also lucky enough with the weather to be able to use the terrace area, and this was a great additional space for photographs.
The canapes were delicious and certainly kept everyone going until dinner. We were especially impressed with the mini Yorkshire puddings! It was a nice touch to come back from photographs to find a server waiting for us with a tray of two of each canape, as we were worried we wouldn’t get time to try any. The meal itself was delicious (as we expected from the menu tasting), and we had many compliments from a large number of the guests that it wasn’t ‘typical wedding food’ and was all cooked to perfection. They were very flexible when catering to dietary requirements, we knew in advance we had a few guests who couldn’t eat part of the main course and Daisy offered a substitute. We are not wine connoisseurs, but it seemed pleasant, and everyone enjoyed it. A nice touch was Daisy adding a bottle of alcohol-free wine to each table after I mentioned I’m not a big drinker and was also concerned for drivers etc.
We went with the Vaulted Cellar for the reception, and it’s a great space for a party! We opted to use the casual seating, and this was a big hit, as was the rum bar. A massive thank you to all the staff for tolerating our choice of music in the evening, it got rather wild, and we had the best time!
Married November 2023
Thank you so much again for all of your help and support in the lead up and on the day itself. We really did have the best day ever!
We really wanted a winter wedding as well as having something to celebrate after Christmas, and we did just that!
Daisy is the friendliest person you’ll ever meet; she is your best friend at your wedding! All of the staff were amazing on the day, as they made us feel so special.
I was nervous that we wouldn’t be able to have our own canapés because we’d be busy with photos. However, the team had our own plateful made for us!
The Vaulted Cellar is the most incredible room for a party! Everyone has been saying Kings Head Hotel is amazing and how they love the characteristics within!
Thank you, everyone; we will be back soon!

Thank you for making our dream come true. It truly was amazing!
All catering is required to be booked via our in-house team, with the exclusion of a cake and favours.
Absolutely. We have 75 bedrooms on site, including a handful of self-catering apartments.
Not at all. We highly recommend the suppliers on our list but would happily work with alternative suppliers. We just need to chat with them before they arrive to ensure they are happy with the spaces they are working in and to ensure we have all their questions answered.
Of course! We are a dog-friendly hotel, allowing dogs or overnight stays in most of our bedrooms for a small additional charge. Although dogs are not permitted in our main restaurant area, they are welcome to join you in the main bar and private spaces.
Midnight. We have a strict cut-off time of midnight, but an extended license can be considered, providing a few conditions are agreed upon.
