Kiftsgate sits high on Glyde Hill in the North Cotswolds, with wide views towards the Malvern Hills, and is known worldwide for its remarkable gardens.
The venue holds a civil ceremony licence for several areas across the gardens, with the tearooms and marquee also licensed in case of bad weather. You can also choose a celebrant-led ceremony in a spot that suits you best, or opt for a local church service nearby.
Receptions can take place in one of three spaces: the water garden, the gardens around the house, or the lower garden overlooking the countryside. You’ll also have the option of adding a marquee for up to 250 guests near the house and gardens.
There are ten bedrooms within Kiftsgate Court, which can be arranged either as two separate properties (one with seven bedrooms and the other with three) or opened up into a single large house. A two-bedroom cottage sits at the end of the drive for extra space.
You’re free to choose your own caterers and other suppliers, although the venue team can provide suggestions if you’d like some help.
Kiftsgate is close to some of the Cotswolds’ best-known towns. Chipping Campden is about 10 minutes away, Broadway around 15, and Stratford-upon-Avon roughly 20.
The venue is about an hour from Birmingham or Oxford, and two hours from west London. The nearest train station is Honeybourne, with direct trains from Paddington, around an 11-minute drive away. There’s ample parking on site for guests.
We only host weddings on Fridays and Saturdays between April and October.
Friday is allocated for marquee decoration. Caterers must collect all equipment and dispose of all rubbish in the skip provided by Monday midday.
Your wedding will end at Midnight with all guests departing by 12:30 am.
The package includes accommodation for up to 24 for the Friday and Saturday nights. Additional nights are possible to book at an extra cost.
There are numerous covered areas in the gardens that will provide your guests with shelter while still allowing them to enjoy the views and borders. We can put you in contact with stretch tent companies if you wish to provide cover for your garden ceremony.
Parasols can be hired to provide shade and rain cover. The tearooms next to the garden can be used in the event of rain during the drinks reception.
The Bohemia Canvas marquee is also registered for civil ceremonies and can be used for blessing ceremonies too, in the event of rain.
