Hopton Court Estate

Hopton Court Estate spans 1,000 acres of Shropshire countryside, offering exclusive use for weddings and events. The Georgian country house, Victorian Orangery, Coach House, and surrounding grounds provide an intimate setting for celebrations with family and friends. Designed in 1776 by John Nash in the Palladian style, the estate has been home to the Woodward family since 1863. Today, three generations of the family work alongside the estate team to preserve its heritage and natural beauty.

Couples can choose between two distinct ceremony spaces:

• The Orangery: This Victorian treasure, licensed for indoor and outdoor ceremonies, accommodates up to 80 guests indoors or 120 outdoors. Set in the heart of the gardens, it offers picturesque views of the Lawns, the House, and the Lake.
• Scouts Wood: For those seeking a woodland setting, this ceremony space is a short walk from the car park. A clearing in the woods provides a tranquil backdrop with countryside views.

After the ceremony, guests are welcomed onto the Lawns with drinks and canapés, enjoying views of the House, Orangery, and Lake. Garden games, like croquet, are a popular choice here.

The Coach House hosts the wedding breakfast and evening party. It seats up to 70 guests indoors, with round or banquet-style tables. Larger guest lists require the Garden Marquee, which can be seamlessly connected to the bar and Coach House. The marquee offers additional space and views of the Orangery and Lawns.

The Coach House can accommodate up to 120 standing guests for evening celebrations. A room flip may be required after the meal, or, for marquee receptions, the band or DJ can set up during the meal without disruption. The Courtyard outside creates a cosy, enclosed atmosphere perfect for food trucks, outdoor seating, and enjoying music under the stars.

• Apartment: The top floor of the House is a three-bedroom, self-catering apartment for up to six guests. The apartment features three bathrooms, a combined kitchen and dining area, and a lounge. A two-night stay is included in the venue hire.
• The Walled Garden: Ideal for a glamping village, with water and power available for tents and camper vans. Partner companies can assist with setup, or guests can bring their own accommodations.
• The Hideaway Hut: A private retreat for two, complete with a kitchenette, en-suite, and decking area. A short drive or morning stroll connects it to the main venue.

The Squirrel Bar

Located in the Coach House, the Squirrel Bar will keep the drinks flowing throughout your day. Stocked with just about everything from draught beers, to local gins, whiskies, wines and delicious cocktails! Additionally, you have the option to provide your own wine, and for £5 per bottle, the bar will take care of the chilling and serving.

Catering

Food is such an important part of your day, which is why their food team will work closely with you to make sure it is perfect! The chefs love to talk food (as well as cook it), so you can work with them to create your perfect wedding feast. No wedding is the same, so the menu is flexible from plated meals to sharing boards, BBQs and street food.

Hopton Court remains a working estate committed to environmental stewardship. The estate’s farmland extends to Clee Hill, with sustainable practices implemented in partnership with tenant farmers under the Sustainable Farming Incentive.

Hopton Wafers, just a 10-minute walk away, offers a pub with 18 bedrooms. Cleobury Mortimer and historic Ludlow are nearby, with Ludlow providing a wealth of shops, restaurants, and accommodations.
