Featuring an epic wood panelled master bedroom with a huge copper bath at the foot of a four poster super king bed. The bridal suite next door is the ideal dressing room with an enormous mirror and French double doors opening out onto your private patio, garden area and hot tub. Finally, a beautiful en-suite and kitchenette so you can hide away from the rest of your guests for as long as you like!
The Setting
Holesfoot is located in the magnificent countryside of the Eden Valley, nestled between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Approached by quiet country lanes, the nearest village is the picturesque rural community of Maulds Meaburn (1 mile), described by journalist Hunter Davies as ‘one of the most beautiful villages in the country’. The estate sits centrally within 20 acres of its own private grounds, with a blend of formal and informal gardens, a lake, woodland and picturesque meadows to enjoy.
The area has many leisure activities within close reach ranging from grouse shooting on the Pennines to sailing on Ullswater, bridleways, footpaths and local golf courses.
The Vibe
Holesfoot is your home away from home, blissfully secluded and filled with luxuries that’ll make you want to stay forever! Wild and whimsical beauty surrounds every corner of the estate, spoiling you for choice on photo ops and set ups.
Your wedding can be exactly as you have always envisioned. Let’s start with the preparation day before. Treat yourself from the minute you check in! Mobile spa treatments in the bridal suite? Hot tub and Prosecco with the girls? Poker night in the secret nook with the boys? Takeaway and a cosy movie night to calm the nerves? Fine dining dinner party in the Long Room with your nearest & dearest? Paella or BBQ in the garden? You can even have the resident barman knock you up a signature Holesfoot Mule for your own private cocktail night in the bar whilst doing your final bits of decorating and setting up.
Choose from their three stunning locations to say I do before drinks, music, and canapés on the front lawn overlooking the pond. Alternatively you can get wed in one of the reception rooms of the beautifully renovated Grade II* listed Georgian-meets-Victorian manor house, in the walled garden, the bar & cosy undercrofts, Italian garden, or even in the bluebell filled woodlands. Fancy a pianist, a string quartet, singer/guitarist? Do it!
There is so much space for activities such as garden games, rounders, archery or axe-throwing to spice up the days events. Why not have a photoshoot around the pond surrounded by a wild flower meadow with the magnificent house as your backdrop? Choose from an abundance of epically beautiful nooks and crannies, indoors and outdoors, to create that wedding album you will never forget.
Move in to the Barn, the Long Room, or even outside, for your wedding breakfast, which can beBset up exactly as you wish. In the barn the rustic stone walls, huge oak floorboards, and wrought iron chandeliers create the perfect setting for your beautiful touches to really stand out and complement the setting. The superbly high ceilings and windows, the huge glass entrance porch, and the beautiful stained glass window all allow natural light to flood in. Likewise with the Long Room, the intricately carved wooden panelling and pillars, along with the divine floor to ceiling windows, create the perfect setting to complement any decor.
The Italian Garden Terrace is a Holesfoot ceremony favourite. Weather dependent, it is an absolute must-do and will leave you and your guests covered head to toe in goosebumps having witnessed something so stunningly romantic. Walking through arches of roses and honeysuckle, along an aisle bordered by water lilies, with stone statues perched on every wall and wisteria creeping up walls and down pillars in the most naturally enchanting of ways.
When it comes to your first dance, go for it and make an unforgettable entrance! The whole barn ceiling is covered with thousands of fibre optic lights to create the most incredible twinkly starry night sky. This really is a stand out feature of the venue and will add another dimension to your celebrations whilst dancing the night away. Their over-the-top sound system is guaranteed not to offend the neighbours…as they don’t have any!
The morning after, a long soak in one of the many extravagant bath tubs, or a coffee in the hot tub will cure that inevitable foggy head. Whip up some eggs for brekky courtesy of the Holesfoot hens and head to their coffee shop for a cheeky hair-of-the-dog Bloody Mary by the cosy fireplace or amongst the flowers in the walled garden to reminisce over your big day. As self confessed coffee snobs, you’ll appreciate a properly made barista style coffee with their own blend of coffee beans.
