The Setting
Holdsworth House stands in three acres of attractive grounds and offers beautiful architecture, stone mullioned windows, pretty courtyards and well-kept gardens. Located three miles north of Halifax and close to scenic Bronte Country, Holdsworth House has always been the premier choice in the area for famous guests since the ’60s, and remains so today.
More recently the manor has been popular with film companies including Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge, Hollywood’s Marvel, BBC’s Gentleman Jack and ITV’s Happy Valley. The hotel also featured in the BAFTA-winning TV show Last Tango in Halifax.

The Vibe
In this historic house you’ll find open fires, cosy lounges, fine antiques and tapestries that together create a sense of history, calm and comfort. There are 36 charming en suite bedrooms, all are individually furnished and some are dog friendly.

The hotel offers a range of packages to suit any couple’s needs. Some options are perfect for small, intimate events, and others allow to-be-weds exclusive use of the house and its scenic grounds.
The hotel can accommodate 120 guests for ceremonies, with five ceremony rooms to choose from. For a more intimate affair, couples can say ‘I do’ with just two guests in the 17th century Stone Gazebo, the country’s smallest licensed venue. Outdoor weddings are another possibility, with abundant idyllic gardens and courtyards. Evening parties can hold 150 guests, with 33 ensuite bedrooms available for overnight stays. As the house hosts just one wedding per day, you can be sure that your special day will feel all your own.
