Great Betley is a gorgeous 16th Century farmhouse nestled in 200 acres of beautiful countryside and the farmland of West Sussex. Around five acres of this could be exclusively yours for your wedding. Great Betley’s Kim Stewart has worked hard to create a stunning, rustic and laid-back wedding and events venue, providing the perfect backdrop for you to create your day, your way!
With sweeping views towards the South Downs and the Iron Age hill fort of Chanctonbury Ring, Great Betley offers a unique venue like no other in the area. The village of Henfield is conveniently situated between Horsham and Brighton, with good access from major routes like the A23, A24 and A27.
Laid back, rustic simplicity – a blank canvas for you to have your choice of marquee or tipi and create your unique wedding party. If you choose Great Betley for your celebrations, you will have sole use of the venue for two days, allowing for decoration of the marquee or tipi, and for your suppliers to set up ready for the big day, as well as the take-down afterwards.
In the house itself you will find a beautiful en-suite master bedroom/honeymoon suite and three other recently renovated double bedrooms for your use for the duration of the event. The infamous Betley breakfast will be served! There is plenty of space for your guests to glamp or camp in the surrounding fields and meadows, extending the celebrations and making your wedding or event even more memorable.
Whilst the venue doesn’t yet have a marriage license, they do encourage blessings or humanist ceremonies. Having a celebrant ensures a very personal ceremony.
Thanks to Kim and Great Betley Farmhouse for making our wedding the best day of our lives. The venue more than exceeded our expectations, with the open views of the downs, beautiful views across the pond to wild farm fields around the barns. We had the flexibility to really make it our own, feel personal and private. Most of all it really felt like from a home from home, from Kim’s hospitality staying over in the farmhouse for our close family to providing a gourmet dinner for the bridal party the night before the wedding. It was a pleasure to have Kim’s support pulling the wedding together and relaxing to work with an organised friendly venue. Thanks so much, can we do it all over again!
Both myself and Alex want to thank you for helping us and for being so understanding with everything. You have been amazing!
Thank you for all the hard work that you put in to making our wedding a special and amazing occasion. It all began with a Zoom call of the farmhouse and fields. We knew your venue was the ideal place for us and it was even more perfect when we finally got to see it once the Covid restrictions had eased!
We are very grateful for being very accommodating to our families and making sure that we were all well fed before and after the ceremony in the morning. Thank you for all the hard work on the day itself – getting tractors to pull out stuck trucks, lending your kitchen for late-night chips and generally making sure that everything ran smoothly so that we could have a stress free day.
Thank you again.
Wow what an amazing day we had! It was so so good. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day, or a more perfect place to have it. You have been exceptional throughout and couldn’t have made it more easy or lovely for us!
