Goodnestone Park is a quintessential English country house available for exclusive use for a weekend wedding celebration.
The wonderful Grade II-listed house in rural Kent is available for exclusive use for two or three nights, making it the perfect weekend wedding venue.
There are plenty of opportunities for maximising the spaces available. Each has breathtaking views of the Kent countryside.
You can choose from two options for an outdoor legal ceremony or blessing, and there is an indoor option at the Coach House. If you prefer a church ceremony, the Church of the Holy Cross is just a few minute’s stroll through the gardens. There are also three locations for your drinks reception before moving to the Orangery Marquee for dining and dancing.
Set in the heart of the Kent countryside, Goodnestone is under an hour by train from London (or 90 minutes by car) and under a 30-minute drive from Dover.
Whilst Goodnestone Park is rich in history and offers a luxurious setting for a weekend wedding celebration, it provides a homely and cosy atmosphere that invites couples and their loved ones to truly relax, enjoy the exclusive use of the space and make the most of creating magical memories over three days.
With its grandeur of history and the comfort of modern furnishings, the house provides the ideal place to stay the day before and the day after the wedding.
The impressive dining room can seat 24 for a wedding rehearsal dinner the night before, and the library is the ideal spot for pre-dinner cocktails. The garden dining table, which also seats 24 and overlooks the rolling countryside, can provide the perfect spot for a more relaxed BBQ option on a sunny evening.
The luxury timber-framed, Italian-inspired Orangery Marquee, custom-made by Bohemia Canvas, provides the ultimate space to host your wedding breakfast, followed by an evening on the dance floor. The Orangery Marquee has a fully fitted sound system, uplighters, festoon lighting, tables and chairs offering a variety of layouts and heating. With windows along one side of the Orangery Marquee, guests can continue to enjoy the views while dining on a menu of delightful food.
At Goodnestone Park, no corkage fees apply, giving you the freedom to supply your own drinks for the day. You also have the option to choose from four preferred catering companies, giving you the flexibility to plan a day that is unique to you.
The bridal suite is one of the largest and finest in Kent. The 12-bedroom house also boasts a bridal prep room with light streaming through large windows, providing the perfect light for hair, makeup, and getting-ready photos. Spread across three floors, there is plenty of space for both parties to use the house without bumping into each other on the morning of the wedding!
Goodnestone Park can provide a directory of approved suppliers that are trusted, loved and local to help you source your dream wedding team.
Ahead of your special day, award-winning resident coordinators, The Wedding Dolls, will work with you to ensure that you have a stress-free planning journey and that everything is in place for a smooth-running wedding weekend. The venue was everything we wanted – we knew from the first visit that it was the one, and it did not disappoint. Ronnie (house manager) was so welcoming and made us feel like it was our own home for the weekend, the decor in all the rooms is stunning and we were very excited to show it off to our closest friends and family who stayed with us the night before and the night of the wedding. the grounds were picture-perfect and gave us the perfect backdrop for all our wedding photos. The Wedding Dolls (wedding coordinators who came with the wedding package) were incredible, too! Now we are looking for an excuse to come back and hire the house and re-live all the memories!

Wedding venue of our dreams! From the moment we found Goodnestone online, we knew it was special. After our first look round, we were hooked. We wanted relaxed but elegant, and Goodnestone delivered this in buckets. The gardens were beautiful and welcoming, the house cosy and grand. Instantly we were greeted like old friends by Ronnie, the gentle and unflappable house manager, who steadfastly ensured we got the best possible experience throughout the wedding planning process. Aided by the wedding coordinators, The Wedding Dolls, our planning and subsequent day was seamless and fairytale-like from start to finish. Our wedding weekend at Goodnestone spanned an early check-in on Friday morning through to a late check-out on Sunday, meaning we also had the pleasure of Judith and Ronnie’s cooking one evening. It was delicious and another gem in Goodnestone’s crown. Could not recommend Goodnestone and the team more.

Goodnestone Park blew us away as our wedding venue. We took the house from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon and filled it with family and friends. From our first call with Tessa right through to Ronnie’s management on the weekend it was the most delightful, easy and accomodating experience. We couldn’t be more impressed or recommend them more highly. Every little detail is thought of, and the house is simply incredible. Comfortable, beautiful, practical. It was bliss. Our guests couldn’t believe how stunning the house, gardens and marquee are. We feel so fortunate to have made our most joyous memories at such a spectacular location and to have done it with the brilliant team at Goodnestone Park is a cherry on top! Thank you, in particular, to Ronnie, not just for being such a warm and wonderful host, but for his generosity and for going above and beyond to make the weekend seamless and fun! A completely perfect experience.

Wow! We got the opportunity to celebrate our wedding weekend here and it was like a dream. Literally, nothing was amiss. Ronald thought of everything and was equally friendly and professional. The entire house was well cared for and felt so luxurious to our guests. Ronald and Judith created a gorgeous meal and breakfast for us. Loved staying here and wish we could enjoy the house for many more days.

We had the most perfect day thank you to the venue itself, Ronnie (the house manager) and The Wedding Dolls (the day coordinators who come with the wedding package).
The grounds themselves are absolutely stunning. The house is a perfect venue to enjoy the weekend with loved ones and to get ready. There are multiple options on ceremony location and the new Orangery is beautiful.
We started the weekend with a BBQ for those staying at the house (cooked by our caterer Olivia at Just One Cook), had a fantastic wedding on the Saturday and made the most of Ronnie’s services for a cooked breakfast on the Sunday.
The venue itself was incredible, but made all the more special by the fantastic service we received across the weekend. We couldn’t have wished for anymore!

Incredible! I was a groomsman at a wedding here in May, and it is quite simply the perfect venue for a quintessential English wedding. I’d give it six stars if I could.
The interior of the house has recently been refurbished to an incredibly high standard – essentially a 5* luxury boutique hotel, but it’s all yours. It‘s like going to the country to stay with your very stylish and very wealthy aunt.
The grounds are breathtaking. It’s English countryside at its best. And the newly built orangery (which is where the wedding dinner is held) is a perfect addition.
If you’re considering Goodnestone Park for your wedding (or any other event for that matter), 100% do it. In a few years time, once word has spread, I suspect this place will be booked up many years in advance.

We couldn’t have imagined it to go any better. We felt so welcome and at ease from the moment we had our tour round. Ronnie really is the essence of hospitality and made the whole process so simple. The house and the grounds really are stunning, and then, with the help of the Wedding dolls (on-site planners), it was just effortless. For planning an event like a wedding that is often stressful Ronnie and his team made it feel fun, exciting and relaxed. If you’re looking for an amazing English country wedding, this is really the place. The orangery is incredible! It’s really one of a kind!
