Glyn Cywarch is a meticulously restored Grade II* listed country house surrounded by breathtaking gardens. The estate features three distinct garden spaces: the rose garden, the front lawn, and the walled garden. Together, they offer a stunning and versatile backdrop for wedding celebrations. The sounds of birds chirping, the gentle rustle of leaves, and the joy of celebrating with loved ones are elements that make every event at Glyn Cywarch unforgettable.
Situated at the foot of the Rhinog mountain range, the property overlooks the estuary of Morfa Harlech, Cardigan Bay, and Portmeirion, creating an idyllic setting within Snowdonia National Park.
Wedding ceremonies at Glyn Cywarch are held in spaces that seamlessly blend natural beauty with historic charm. Outdoor ceremonies take place in the expansive gardens, surrounded by manicured lawns and vibrant flower beds. The historic house and rolling hills beyond create a breathtaking natural altar. Indoors, the drawing room offers a warm and elegant atmosphere, with high ceilings, wooden beams, and stone fireplaces.
Receptions at Glyn Cywarch can be tailored to suit any style, from grand marquees in the gardens to intimate gatherings inside the house. The estate’s picturesque surroundings provide countless opportunities for memorable photographs, particularly during the golden hour when the property is bathed in a warm glow.
The house can accommodate up to nineteen guests. The first floor offers six double bedrooms and two single rooms, four of which have ensuite facilities. On the second floor, there are three single rooms, a shared bathroom, and a yoga room. Additional accommodation includes the butler’s bothy, a self-contained space with a double bed, bathroom, kitchen, and sitting room.
The ground floor features a fully equipped kitchen with an electric AGA, induction hob, and electric oven. Guests can enjoy a large formal dining room, a study with a flat-screen TV and board games, and the Long Room, a cosy space with an open fire, sofas, and a piano.
While Glyn Cywarch operates on a self-catering basis, the surrounding area offers exceptional local caterers and private chefs. Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, these experts can design bespoke menus featuring Welsh lamb, seafood, and seasonal produce. Local breweries, distilleries, and vineyards provide an array of drink options, from award-winning ales to Welsh wines and ciders.
All heating and hot water at Glyn Cywarch is generated using renewable energy from a water-source heat pump. Recycling is a priority across the estate.
The estate is surrounded by attractions showcasing the best of Welsh history, culture, and nature. Nearby Harlech Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers stunning views and a glimpse into Wales’ medieval past. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore Snowdonia National Park, while the coastline provides sandy beaches and opportunities for horseback riding and golf.
Charming towns like Porthmadog and Barmouth feature traditional shops, pubs, and historic steam train journeys on the Ffestiniog Railway.
