Located in the small hamlet of Glandyfi in Ceredigion, Glandyfi Castle is an intimate Grade II-listed wedding venue set within 40 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland. Hidden behind the historic “Great Wall of Glandyfi”, the castle offers exclusive hire for private and intimate wedding celebrations.
Overlooking the Dyfi Estuary with views towards Aberdyfi, the castle is close to the Ceredigion coast and within easy reach of Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.
Say your vows in one of the castle’s stunning indoor or outdoor ceremony spaces, all offering sweeping views of the Dyfi estuary and the rolling Welsh countryside. Ceremony spaces include the stunning indoor Atrium and the Dyfi Gardens outdoor ceremony area. For smaller ceremonies or elopements, The Drawing Room and The Library are also licensed for weddings. The venue welcomes ceremonies conducted by registrars, celebrants, or a combination of both, depending on your preference.
For religious ceremonies, St. Michael’s Church is located just one mile from the castle.
All packages include exclusive hire of the venue, which can host ceremonies for up to 80 guests, and a sit-down wedding breakfast for up to 50 guests. Larger weddings can be catered for with additional marquee hire; Glandyfi Castle works with a trusted local supplier providing luxury sailcloth marquees, tipis and stretch tents.
Glandyfi Castle offers exclusive overnight accommodation for 22 guests across 11 bedrooms. Nine rooms feature private bathrooms, while two share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, ideal for families. Each room features modern comforts, including a dressing table, wardrobe, hair dryer, Smart TV, and a fully stocked bathroom.
Highlights include the Dyfi Honeymoon Suite, featuring a super-king bed, estuary views, and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a bath.
Glandyfi Castle operates as a dry-hire venue, with no supplier restrictions for food or drink. You will have access to the castle’s recommended suppliers, but the choice of who you book for your wedding is entirely yours.
A cooked breakfast for up to 22 guests the morning after your wedding is included in all wedding packages and organised by Glandyfi Castle.
Glandyfi Castle is a 10-minute drive from Machynlleth, a small market town. Machynlleth is home to multiple pubs, restaurants, and B&Bs, and it has a small supermarket. The Castle is about a 30-minute drive from Aberystwyth in mid-Wales, home to large supermarkets, multiple options for additional accommodation and close to the stunning Eryri National Park, where you will find Snowdon!
Glandyfi Castle is easily accessed via the A487, with a large on-site car park accommodating up to 20 vehicles, 2 EV chargers are available. Travelling by car is the recommended mode of transport to Glandyfi Castle.
By train, the nearest mainline station is Machynlleth (six miles), served by multiple direct trains from Birmingham New Street daily and direct routes from Shrewsbury. Due to the rural location of Glandyfi Castle, taxis must be pre-booked, and the venue can provide you with local contacts.

Glandyfi Castle can hold wedding ceremonies for up to 80 guests, and sit-down wedding breakfasts for up to 50 guests. Depending on your catering requirements, we may be able to accommodate numbers above 50. For weddings with more than 80 guests, additional marquee hire is required.
Yes, our wedding packages start with a minimum two-night stay. If extra setup and breakdown days are required, the property must be notified, and the additional costs will be quoted separately.
