Price includes: Exclusive use of venue for the weekend including ceremony, reception and entertainment spaces, private pub, firepit, sauna, lawns, gardens and terraces. All wedding day catering and optional drinks.
Guest accommodation is an additional cost.
Not any more! Most of our accommodation is now insulated and heated and either has ensuite facilities, or private facilities close to your accommodation including our amazing new cedarwood bathhouses with underfloor heating for the fforest domes.
You and your guests will have exclusive access to the whole site for your wedding weekend. In return, we ask that your guests book our on-site accommodation for your wedding. This requirement depends on the season, but on average we would expect 80 guests to stay on site between May and September, reducing to 60 in April and October, and 40 in March and November. We also relax the numbers for midweek weddings.
fforest has a very loyal following of families who come to stay with us every Easter / Whitsun / summer and for this reason, we don't generally host weddings at these times, but we will work with you to find a solution.
Our in-house catering is a-m-a-z-i-n-g !! We are incredibly versatile and can accommodate most requirements. fforest isn't just a venue for hire with wedding day staff. Our in-house team will be in the kitchen well before you arrive, preparing for your welcome night party right through to your morning after barbecue brunch. Our food is a very important part of the whole fforest experience and one that you will be taking about long after the event.
Anyone that has ever held a BYO house party for around 100 people will know how much work is involved in getting your place party ready, providing glasses, chilling bottles and making sure that glasses are kept topped up. And then the clean up afterwards! The trip to the bottle bank, the scrubbing, the breakages. It’s a lot of hard work, isn’t it? I bet you’ve vowed never again. And these are your friends!
It's therefore not fair to expect us to do this for free, especially as we are a licensed premises with trained staff, expected to take delivery, store, chill and serve your wine using our wine glasses, our fridges, our storage space and then clear away, wash up, dispose of all the waste through trade contracts, replace any breakages, deal with the additional cleaning and pay VAT to HMRC.
Although it plays a part, it's not just about lost revenue from you not buying our wine! Each season we review our wine list and ensure that we carefully select a range of wines to suit most tastes and budgets. We anticipate that you will purchase a quantity of bottles for your event and our price per bottle takes this into account. If you genuinely find nothing to your taste on our wine list then we are happy to discuss corkage with you.
