One of Staffordshire’s hidden gems, Dunwood Hall is a privately owned family home dating back to 1871.
Grade II-listed Dunwood may be an important building historically, but its soul and character make it special. Passed down four generations, it evokes both the grandeur of a castle and the intimacy of an Italian wine bar that only the locals know about.
Step outside, and you’ll stumble upon 5 acres of secluded gardens with beautifully manicured lawns, rockeries, pools and intricate spaces. You’ll discover a rose garden that makes for a unique wedding toast location and a 1920s art deco swimming pool that opens up one-of-a-kind photoshoot opportunities.
A quirky and elegant country manor to call your own, Dunwood Hall is a fine example of Neo-Gothic architecture, recorded in Pevsner, built 1870-71 for Tomas Hulme, an “up-and-coming” Victorian from a local pottery town.
At Dunwood, your wedding is an intimate and personal experience. They’re not interested in creating a production line where one couple walks out of the revolving door as another enters. They believe your day should be full of magic, stress-free and above all, fun for everyone involved. That’s why they only invite a select number of couples each year to get married at Dunwood, so they can give each one the attention it deserves.
They can give you exclusive use of their home for a long weekend. This gives you time to relax and to review and amend any final touches. It also allows the team to help out, serve cups of tea and get to know you and your guests.
What an incredible wedding venue Dunwood is! We really couldn’t have chosen a better place to get married. When we first visited, we loved how relaxed everything about Dunwood was, and this was exactly the vibe we wanted for our wedding day. The beautiful architecture and gardens made it all the more perfect. Erika and Brodie managed things seamlessly, with warmth and kindness, making sure our day went as planned. We could not have asked for better hosts. We hired Dunwood from Friday to Sunday, with all the accommodation. Having the Friday to settle and set up, and then relax in the evening with our wedding party, was perfect and really set the tone for the weekend. All our guests raved about how perfect a venue it was, and we were so glad everyone could see why we had chosen it. With only a handful of weddings run per year, Erika and Brodie are really able to give you so much of their attention. We were so grateful for the planning catch-ups and their experience and wisdom. Knowing everything on the day was being handled by them, made us feel so relaxed and comfortable – any stress was completely shouldered by them.
Thank you so much, Erika and Brodie, for making our day so perfect. 5 stars really aren’t enough! We hope we can pop in and visit sometime in the future.

Beautiful and tranquil, the estate will meet all your expectations.
The Kemp-Lovatts are the perfect hosts. We had the pleasure of attending a wedding at the Dunwood Hall Estate… would highly recommend!
What can I say? If we could give 10000 stars, we would. Erika and Brodie, from the first viewing, opened their Estate to us. It wasn’t just the venue we fell in love with. It was also them. Their attention to detail and love and passion for us as a couple were amazing.
Every guest commented on how amazing they were. They do not just treat you like a client; you feel like part of their family. There’s nothing they will not do to make your day as magical as you dreamt it would be.
If anyone is looking for the venue of their dreams, there’s no better place than Dunwood Hall. And no better people to help you than Erika and Brodie.
Thank you so much for everything you have done for us and still continue to do after our wedding day. We will never forget it, and it was bittersweet upon leaving as we could have stayed forever.

We chose Dunwood Hall for our wedding, because of its gothic charm and quaint styling.
It was the perfect intimate venue for what we wanted and still catered for a large party in the evening. It complemented our style superbly and really gave the retro/vintage feel that we wanted. As a venue it is a little different comprising of numerous intimate and enchanting rooms off the main hall. People would slink away and have quiet drinks or mingle in a busy atmosphere. The gardens are beautiful, again with numerous little pockets of gorgeousness which were perfect for photos.
It is definitely a venue with the wow factor whilst keeping its composure and charm for a bespoke and truly magical day.
We would absolutely recommend!
Having our wedding at Dunwood Hall was such a dream. After viewing about 30 venues, Dunwood Hall finally gave us that feeling of “we’ve found the one!”. It really stood out to us, not only because of the absolutely stunning architecture of the building and the grounds (which is evident from the photos alone) but the warmth that Erika and Brodie showed us from our very first viewing.
From the moment we first visited the venue, we were made to feel so welcome. Erika and Brodie made every effort to take time to show us around, took so much personal interest in our wedding plans and just gave us such a feeling that we would be in really good hands – and we were! They really made our wedding planning experience so enjoyable, were on board and excited by our ideas, and had some amazing suggestions to make our wedding feel unique. They were even open to helping us host our wedding breakfast outside which was a challenge considering the possibility of bad weather and a first time for them too! They even went the extra mile to get a new canopy fitted just in case it rained, which was so sweet!
On the day before the wedding and the day itself, they were on hand to help out, making sure everything was going smoothly and liaising with the suppliers. We felt like we had such a brilliant team of people around us, which made us feel even more at ease.
As for the venue, you don’t need to look far to see how absolutely stunning it is! The gothic architecture, roaring fires, and quirky interior make you feel like you are in another world! It’s just so unique and different – if you’re looking for a bespoke wedding, then this is the place for you!
As well as the amazing venue and service, the wedding accommodation was also just perfect – the honeymoon suite was so beautifully and elegantly decorated, and the living room and kitchen area shared with the bridesmaids was exactly what we needed! There was so much space to get ready in and to have a small after party in and a really well-equipped kitchen which was great. We felt so at home there.
We’d highly recommend Dunwood Hall as a wedding venue; it’s stunning in every way, and Erika and Brodie really went above and beyond to support us throughout the process. We can’t wait to return again soon for a visit! Dunwood Hall feels like a home away from home for us now.

“It’s only forever.”…for this very reason, it was important for us to find a venue which reflected us and what we are about. Dunwood Hall surpassed all expectations.
Our wedding ceremony and celebrations were absolutely perfect. So many guests commented that it was the best wedding they’d ever been to; it all felt so relaxed, intimate and filled with love. Everything we dreamed of was accommodated – to the finest of personalised details.
This is not a run-of-the-mill venue; it is a beautiful, neo-gothic family home which gives guests a luxurious and unique experience for a few lucky couples each year. The house and grounds are stunning- quirky, unique and intimate, with acres of fields and numerous garden areas to explore alongside a freshwater swimming pool.
Multiple indoor areas allowed our friends and family to mingle, dance or chill as they wished. Moving between the sunny orangery, outdoor terrace lounge, dining room, opulent hallway bar with grand piano, music room and the cosy snug with open fire.
Erika and Brodie are wonderful hosts, We were encouraged to do things our way rather than worrying about what others expected or what tradition dictates. This ultimately resulted in a wedding which was so meaningful to us, surrounded by the people we wanted to celebrate with. Trust in Erika and Brodie’s experience and advice. They know what works and what doesn’t.
Our experience was fully bespoke with ongoing support throughout a year of meticulous planning as well as during our wonderful weekend of love and fun. Erika and Brodie’s attention to detail, friendly comms and wicked sense of humour meant that they became an integral part of our weekend, chatting and celebrating alongside us all whilst somehow also ensuring the smooth running of events at the same time. That is no mean feat; they are incredible!
As a dog-friendly venue, it was a joy to have our Cavachon as ring-bearer and our friend’s little Yorkies as pooch-maids, complete with flower garland collars. Resident doggos Chisel and Lourdie were perfect hosts, too and even guided some guests to the orangery for the ceremony as they arrived!
We recommend booking the venue and on-site accommodation for the entire weekend (Friday to Sunday) as we did. This allowed us time to give 10 of our guests a weekend away whilst also settling in and getting organised well in advance so the wedding day itself was completely stress-free.
The newly refurbished on-site accommodation is gorgeous! Especially the Bridal suite, with far-reaching views of the local hills, an en-suite featuring a roll-top bath, and the most beautiful toilet we’ve ever seen!
As an LGBTQ couple, it was also important for us to choose an inclusive venue where we would be understood and welcomed with open arms. We felt 100% comfortable to be ourselves; allowing us to fully enjoy an amazing and magical experience.

Where to begin? In a word, “Perfection”. From the outset, Erika and Broderick and their beautiful family were fantastic. Their attentiveness to our needs and requirements was second to none. The way they opened their home to not just me and my then bride (now wife) but to all of our guests as well is a quality that is rare to find these days. We were made to feel as if our wedding was actually happening in our own grand house. The house itself and the grounds surrounding it are beautiful, with the most perfect opportunities for great quality photos, and the accommodation available here is as amazing as the rest of the site as well. Erika and Broderick couldn’t do enough to please and ensure that our event was everything that it could possibly be. Thanks guys.

Attended a wedding at the Dunwood Hall Estate. Beautiful place, wonderful hosts. Grounds are unbelievable. We were able to stay there overnight. Had the most amazing time.
We love to welcome people to our home but host only a handful of events each year. With this in mind, we love hosting people (particularly dog lovers) who want to get stuck into making their event personal. They enjoy a quirkier style and appreciate the historic buildings and countryside location. We generally do medium-sized weddings, with around 65 people for the daytime reception and up to 120 for an evening party.
We have a minimum of 40 guests for all weddings held at Dunwood Hall Estate.
Unlike many historical wedding venues, we have ample parking for 45 cars. This is accessed via the main drive.
Yes, you will have complete exclusivity of Dunwood Hall and associated buildings for the duration of your event.
Yes, we do.
