Dovecote Events

My wife and I married at Dovecote in August 2024, which was absolutely magical. We knew we wanted to get married here from the moment we met the organised, Mel, Matt and the team. The venue itself is beautiful, and the facilities are excellent. We got married in the barn and then had our party in the Tipi.

The barn is rustic, without feeling old. It was decorated with lovely lighting and furnishings and looked majestic for our day. Then we went to the Tipi outside, which gave the feel of a festival, surrounded by good friends and great music. The food was excellent. People commented that it was one of the best wedding meals they had. Everything was wonderful and flawless. But where Dovecote really shines is with the staff: everyone was eager to be helpful, kind, polite, and service with a smile. They made us feel special and cared for our guests just the same. Nothing was too much for them. Everything was where it should be, and the day went without any problems whatsoever.

I can say with all my heart that Dovecote is highly recommended as a wedding venue – it was a perfect start to married life. Thank you so much!

We cannot fault a single aspect of our day from the moment we arrived at Dovecote to the moment we left – in fact, from the moment we walked into our first Open Day Event two years ago!! The team were faultless from start to finish. Not only did we have the most stunning venue, but we were blessed with the best team as well! Dovecote was the only venue we looked at because right from the first moment we set eyes on it, we knew it was the venue we wanted – from then on, we have been on the most magical wedding journey – from our food tasting to our final meeting, the attention to detail was phenomenal.

Cece is incredible. We are so very glad that we were lucky enough to have her as our wedding coordinator. Having her there from the beginning of our journey all the way up to the evening of our wedding was very special! On the wedding day, Cece was around every corner, ensuring that everything ran smoothly—constantly checking in and making sure we were alright, well fed, and always with a drink in our hand!

The team on the setting-up day and the wedding day was amazing. Absolutely everyone was smiling, on hand and nothing was too much – whether I was asking for the heating to be turned down, turned on, for tables to be moved… nothing was too much! It is clear that between them, they have created a wonderful working family, and it shows!

We are gutted that our wedding journey has ended, although we are very excited to start married life—it just means no more visits to Dovecote. However, we hope to attend someone else’s wedding someday! We cannot recommend Dovecote enough and will continue to sing their praises to anyone and everyone!

We just want to say the hugest possible thank you for providing us with such an amazing experience on Saturday. I’m finding it hard to put into words how impressed everyone was with your venue, staff, food, drinks… the list goes on. It’s a really difficult thing to achieve, and you guys seem to do it naturally and effortlessly because you genuinely love and enjoy the whole experience. There is no sense of pressure or rush, every single person who needed to contact you did so with ease and it was all just a lovely thing from start to finish. Anyone who uses your venue is in for a treat, you really do it all so well. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for just the most cracking time ever.

Just to say a MASSIVE thank you for everything! Everything was so chilled and stress free! All the guests loved the venue and commented on how great the staff were. Thank you for just being so laid back with us and just letting us get on with what we wanted to do! Thanks to Matt and team for the food, it went down very well!

Dovecote Barn was the first and only venue we viewed. From the minute Mel and Matt walked us through the beautiful big barn door we just knew this was the ideal place to hold our wedding reception. Dovecote barn has a lovely feeling of warmth and comfort and as we were planning an autumnal wedding, we could really envision our theme and décor fitting in perfectly. The team at Dovecote went above and beyond to work with our vision, making amazing suggestions for our wedding breakfast meal and adapting some dishes on their menus to fit our autumnal vision. The food was outstanding on the day (I’d happily have our wedding breakfast for every meal if I could!), even our guests with various dietary requirements were astounded with their adapted versions of the meals. Mel and Matt not only made us feel relaxed throughout the planning process, but also made us feel like friends. They made every pre-wedding meeting feel so personal and nothing seemed too much for them. We honestly had no worries at all as we knew our wedding reception was in the safest of hands! The team did a fantastic job of setting up in the morning, making everything look perfect and throughout the evening they were professional and attentive. So many of our guests were amazed with the venue, food and relaxed atmosphere Dovecote has to offer! It truly was perfect in every way and absolutely nothing could have been done to top it! We would highly recommend Dovecote Barn to anyone and everyone wanting to plan a relaxed, stress free and unforgettable wedding. Not only for the beautiful venue, but for the wonderful staff too! You guys rock!!

Thank you so much for everything the whole Dovecote team did for our wedding. Everyone said how wonderful the food was and how beautiful the venue was. Myself and Ben had the perfect day and I just wanted to say thank you so much for that.

From the first time we set foot in Dovecote, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. From the warm welcome we had from Melanie to the beautiful barn, stunning tipi and spectacular grounds, we were blown away. Every step of the way, the whole team was so helpful and left us feeling excited and stress-free going into the day.

The private food tasting with Lauren, Tom, and Matthew was a real highlight, and our dietary requirements were catered for so thoughtfully – huge thank you to chefs Tim (x2) and the team. Setting up the tipi the day before the wedding could not have gone smoother, thanks to many team members being available to support. And, of course, the day was perfect and everything that we hoped it would be; special thanks to Lauren for accepting my last-minute deliveries and ensuring everything ran so smoothly with Cece, Tom and co.

All of our guests commented on how beautiful our venue was, and we couldn’t be happier that we chose you. We cannot wait to find an excuse to come back and see you all soon!

Married May 2024

It’s been two weeks since we married at Dovecote Barn and we haven’t stopped talking about it! We want to say a HUGE thank you to Mel, Matt, Nicky, Tom and the rest of your team for being absolutely outstanding throughout the whole run up to and on our wedding day. I remember visiting your wedding fair this time last year, the minute we were shown around the venue, I knew it was something special & special it truly was. To arranging all the appointments, planning, food tasting and final arrangements, you made us both feel so at ease knowing it was all in hand. Although the rain came to say hello to us on our big day, the staff looked after us and all our guests amazingly. Our guests continue to tell us just how organised the day was, polite and friendly all the staff were, how delicious the food was (hats off to the chef!) and just how stunning the venue is! We cannot thank you guys enough and will continue to recommend you to other bride and grooms to be!

I could not recommend Dovecote enough!! We chose the venue for our wedding as it provided everything we had hoped for… rural setting, a barn ceremony and most importantly, a huge tipi. The beautiful barn was perfect for the ceremony, and the drinks reception afterwards on the patio was relaxed with ample space for guests to sit, the confetti throw and photos. We chose a barbecue meal, which was delicious and plentiful. The tipi was perfect, with plenty of space for the band and dance floor. The fire pits added an extra touch to make our day special. The weather was also perfect, so our day couldn’t have been better! All the staff were helpful and friendly from the initial planning stages to the day itself. Thank you again so much. It really was a magical day.
