There is a distinct sense of place at Donington Park Farmhouse. Set between Castle Donington and the historic village of Melbourne, the venue enjoys far-reaching countryside views while remaining close to Derby, Leicester and Nottingham.

The 18th-century Threshing Barn retains its original beams, bare brick walls and rustic charm, offering a striking backdrop for the day’s celebrations. Its age and character are apparent from the moment you walk in. Across the venue, original features and thoughtfully restored spaces help create an atmosphere that feels relaxed, timeless and unique.

Guests will find plenty of beautiful spots for photographs – from the red brick Dutch Barns to open fields just across the lane.

There are two licensed ceremony spaces on site, each offering something different.

• The Threshing Barn (up to 150 guests)
• A dramatic space where soaring beams and historic features draw your eye upwards. The scale and warmth of this barn create an unforgettable setting for your vows.
• The Hitching Room (up to 80 guests)
• Light-filled and intimate, this smaller room is ideal for those planning a more personal ceremony.

Both rooms are fully licensed for legal weddings and heated for year-round comfort.

The celebration continues with a reception that flows effortlessly from day to night.

The Threshing Barn transforms in the evening into a lively party space, with high timber beams above and a well-stocked bar below. The bar offers flexible drinks packages, with options for cocktails, corkage, and even real ale barrels.

Separate spaces are available for each part of the day – ceremony, dining, and dancing – so there’s no waiting around for a room to be turned around. The courtyard, ideal for a summer drinks reception, provides a relaxed setting for guests to gather, while the bar area with its open fire is perfect for colder months.

For the wedding breakfast, guests dine in the restored Pig Sties – a series of characterful red-brick rooms complete with antique features. Whether you’re planning a relaxed gathering or an energetic party, the venue offers the space and flexibility to suit your every need.

There are 20 individually styled bedrooms available onsite, each one designed to feel comfortable and personal. Five of these are included with the venue at no extra cost on the wedding night.

If you wish, all rooms can be reserved exclusively for your guests, creating the feel of a private country hotel. The following morning, breakfast is served in the farmhouse – a chance to slow down and relive the best bits together.

Each bedroom boasts its own charm, featuring original details, thoughtful touches, and a relaxed atmosphere throughout.

Food is at the heart of the experience at Donington Park Farmhouse. As a working farm and Deer Park, the venue takes pride in its “Estate to Plate” approach – with much of the menu either reared or grown on-site, or sourced from nearby producers.

From open-kitchen theatre in The Granary to sharing boards, BBQs and hearty British favourites, the food is generous, sociable, and made for sharing.

The in-house team serves up flavourful, comforting dishes with real provenance. The pig sties, converted into characterful dining rooms, provide an inviting and informal setting for the Wedding Breakfast.

Sustainability isn’t an afterthought at Donington Park Farmhouse – it’s built into the way the venue works. An independent audit confirms that the estate sequesters more carbon than it produces, making it a proudly carbon-positive venue.

• Around 600 trees are planted on the estate each year – around five for every wedding.
• A large solar array powers the site’s daytime electricity needs.
• A biomass boiler, fuelled by timber from the estate, provides carbon-neutral heating.
• The natural reed bed sewage system supports biodiversity and reduces emissions.
• EV charging is available with four on-site units.
• Local produce is prioritised – venison comes from the estate, while beef and lamb come from the neighbouring Lodge Farm.

Local suppliers are used wherever possible, from florists specialising in British-grown flowers to independent producers who share the venue’s values.

There’s plenty to explore nearby. The farmhouse sits between Castle Donington and Melbourne, both of which are full of character and local interest.

Though surrounded by open countryside, the venue is just a short drive from the cities of Derby, Leicester, Nottingham and Loughborough – offering the best of both worlds.

The venue is easily accessible by car and is just 2.5 miles from East Midlands Airport. Major routes, including the M1, M42 and A50, offer excellent connections for travelling guests.

From the A453 at Isley Walton, take the Melbourne turning. The venue is half a mile down on the right. Look for the striking black and white farmhouse – you can’t miss it.

A special overnight package is available for guests flying the next day, including parking for the duration of the trip and return taxi transfers to the airport.
