Domaine de la Vène sits within 630 acres of largely untouched South of France countryside. Rolling hills, forests, and open fields stretch as far as the eye can see, offering a striking backdrop for your celebrations. Interiors balance elegance with comfort: flagstone floors, antique furniture, and carefully curated rooms provide a sense of intimacy and timeless style. The property combines open-air vistas with spaces designed for gathering, creating a flexible setting that suits both quiet moments and shared celebrations.
Couples may choose from several locations for their ceremony. Outdoor options allow you to celebrate amid panoramic views, while indoor spaces offer shelter when the weather is uncertain. A marquee can be erected on the grounds, or the barn-currently under renovation-provides an alternative for a more intimate or covered ceremony. Each option places your vows against a backdrop of natural beauty, framed by the domaine’s historic architecture and expansive countryside.
The reception can take place outdoors, in a marquee, or in the barn once renovation is complete. Spacious drawing rooms and dining areas accommodate both formal meals and relaxed gatherings. A long dining table seats sixteen, while open fireplaces and flagstone floors add warmth to indoor celebrations. With multiple kitchens, including a professional Cornue stove and stone fireplace barbecue, the venue supports a variety of dining formats, from sit-down dinners to casual entertaining. The layout encourages mingling while maintaining a sense of intimacy with your guests.
Weddings at Domaine de la Vène include a three-night stay across the main house and adjoining cottage. The property accommodates up to 22 guests across 11 bedrooms, ranging from large suites to compact rooms. Eight bathrooms, three fully equipped kitchens, and two drawing rooms provide space for both relaxation and shared experiences. Living areas are furnished for comfort and style, with ample seating, fireplaces, and spaces for guests to gather while maintaining privacy. This residential approach ensures you and your guests remain together throughout the celebration.
Dining at Domaine de la Vène is arranged through carefully selected local chefs. Each supplier is introduced based on your requirements, ensuring menus suit your celebration. Kitchens are fully equipped, supporting professional preparation as well as informal cooking. The property’s large stone fireplace doubles as a barbecue, and the main kitchen features a professional Cornue cooker. Whether you opt for a multi-course dinner or a relaxed feast, the venue provides the facilities and expertise to deliver meals that reflect the quality and rhythm of your day.
The domaine lies 20 minutes from Carcassonne, whose medieval city offers festivals, wine tasting, and sightseeing. Fine beaches and the Pyrenees are within day-trip reach, as is Toulouse, with its major airport just over an hour away. The Corbières region surrounding the property remains one of the South of France’s most unspoilt areas, offering Mediterranean climate and natural beauty without the crowds of more commercialised destinations. This combination of accessibility and solitude allows your celebration to feel both connected and removed from the everyday.
Carcassonne Airport is a short drive away, while Toulouse Airport lies approximately 1 hour 10 minutes from the domaine, offering broader international connections. Barcelona can be reached in around three hours by road.
Our nearest neighbours are miles away, so within reason, we have no noise restrictions or curfews!
We love having our guests' well-behaved dogs join the celebrations at the domaine!
Yes, we are converting one of our barns into a building suitable for hosting wedding ceremonies or receptions. We are renovating it in stages and can't commit to a completion date, but we aim to have stage one ready for spring 2026.
