Setting
Discover a setting on the border of Shropshire and Cheshire that’s steeped in history and romance. Combermere Abbey sits within acres of rolling parkland, ancient woods and walled gardens, providing a secluded and special place for you to celebrate your big day. Elegant, luxurious and enchanting, Combermere Abbey offers something truly unique for your fairy-tale wedding and can cater for every aspect of your day.
Ceremony
The characterful Glasshouse sits at the apex of the stunning walled garden, providing an unforgettable and unique setting to hold your ceremony. Updated in 2022, the Glasshouse brings the outside in and features a decorative tree adorned with blossoms and birdcages at its centre, connecting it with the surrounding gardens and woodland. Enveloped by a unique fruit tree maze, you can tie the knot in this wonderful light-filled space with your guests all around you.
The centre of the maze is perfect for an al fresco ceremony, surrounded by views of the idyllic gardens. Those who would prefer a religious ceremony will be pleased to know that picturesque churches are just a short drive from Combermere Abbey.
Reception
A few steps away from the Glasshouse is the Pavilion. Set within its own beautiful, private garden, it offers the perfect space for your wedding breakfast and evening reception. Completed in April 2023, this stylish and contemporary space has been reimagined and modernised, creating a stunning setting for romantic wedding celebrations that take the outside in. It boasts an inviting lounge and bar area, an updated al fresco terrace for relaxing and a large reception area with exquisite mirrors that bathe the room with light and offer reflective views of the surrounding gardens. Couples can make this space their own by adding decorations and florals to create a personalised style.
Accommodation
After the festivities have drawn to a close, the North Wing Honeymoon Suite, set within the historic abbey, provides a luxurious and suitably grand setting to relax and let the day’s events sink in. With a private entrance, butler service and views over the mere, you might never want to leave!
There is plenty of accommodation for your guests, too, with space for up to 49 in the picturesque Courtyard Cottages. Boasting comfort and style, they can be booked for the night of your wedding.
Food & Drink
Combermere Abbey takes pride in the food, drink and service they offer via their in-house catering and event management team. They guarantee the very highest standards throughout every part of your day, with delicious food options from start to finish. Picture canapés and cocktails in the gardens, a personalised menu of seasonal dishes for your wedding breakfast, and tempting wood-fired pizzas in the evening, cooked right before your eyes in the outdoor kitchen!
