About

The Setting

Discover the irresistible allure of BMA House in Bloomsbury. Imagine yourself amidst a beautiful and tranquil outdoor haven set in a timeless area steeped in history within the heart of Bloomsbury. Combine this with an array of impressive rooms, gourmet food, fine wines and superb service; BMA House is a hidden gem that offers everything you’ve ever dreamed of on your special day.

Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1911, BMA House is a stunning Grade II listed building. It holds a wedding licence within four grand and elegant rooms, accommodating up to 200 people for a ceremony and wedding breakfast. However, the venue’s secret lies in its beautiful and peaceful outdoor spaces: The Courtyard and The Garden.

The Vibe

BMA House has four impressive wedding rooms, each with abundant natural daylight, offering a blank canvas for a ceremony or reception setting.

In the style of Lutyens, floor-to-ceiling arched windows appear in the Snow and Paget Rooms, making them bright and airy. The more traditional Paget Room has beautiful Spanish mahogany pillars and two magnificent fireplaces at either end of the room with mahogany over mantels. Boasting direct access to the Courtyard where couples can toast their commitment to one another, this is the ideal room for both a ceremony and reception. One of their more popular rooms for a wedding breakfast is the Snow Room. Also located on the ground floor, this light room offers direct access to the Courtyard and can be transformed into your evening reception space with colourful mood lighting, creating the ultimate fun environment for dancing.

Their flagship room, the Great Hall, has two small balconies overlooking the Courtyard, which provides the perfect vantage point for photographers to capture group wedding shots. The feature pillars in the room stand from floor to ceiling and are finished with the trademark BMA House gold leaf. A stage at the front of the room provides an ideal spot for a band or entertainment. Ascend the beautiful winding staircase to the charming Prince’s Room, most suited to an intimate wedding, and be in awe of its stunning glass chandelier and abundance of daylight. Circular in appearance, the room features Corinthian columns in the corners, which, along with the covering throughout the room, are adorned with beautiful gold leaf.

Leading in from the Garden is the striking Garden room. This contemporary space is used for pre-dinner drinks in the case of wet weather. However, its 24-foot ceiling offers another beautiful space filled with daylight, and its modern design provides the ideal inside space for those smaller receptions. The Courtyard and the Garden. Both outside areas offer the perfect setting for pre-dinner drinks. Their largest outdoor area, the Courtyard, has a lovely central fountain and intricate gates, ideal for larger wedding parties. The romantic Garden boasts an ornamental pond, offering exquisite surroundings for memorable photographs in the sunshine.

BMA House goes above and beyond to ensure their brides are happy and relaxed, treating each wedding with loving care. From the moment they receive an enquiry to the moment of the last dance, they are personal “Toast Masters” for their brides. The team is involved in every aspect to discuss and advise, ensuring that every wedding runs seamlessly.
