Berwick House presides at the end of a long drive surrounded by thousands of acres of green pastures along the sparkling River Severn. This outstanding mansion was built in 1731 and expanded in 1875 with no expense spared, resulting in a truly stunning manor designed for entertainment and rich with character.
Guests enjoy rolling views grazed by Berwick’s historic herd of Jersey cattle, the second oldest herd in the UK behind the King’s. Berwick offers the best of rural tranquillity while remaining right on the doorstep of convenience and civilisation. Just 2 miles away is the vibrant bustle of Shrewsbury, one of England’s finest medieval market towns. Berwick is easily accessible by car, public transportation, or even on foot from the Shrewsbury train station.

This beautiful estate offers its lavish interior as your setting for your celebration. You will find hand-carved and oak-panelled walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, large marble fireplaces, stained glass, and tall corniced ceilings adorned with crystal chandeliers. Every wedding enjoys exclusive use of the Georgian Library, marble-topped bar, main hall with stained glass ceiling, light-filled double Drawing Room, Dining Room, Snooker Room, and much more. With so many available spaces, each room can serve a single purpose, keeping on-the-day stress to a minimum and ensuring guests experience an exciting new setting for each part of the day.
You can choose your perfect civil ceremony setting with eight licensed spaces in and around the House and Gardens. Opt for flexible ceremonial use of Little Berwick Chapel, just a short stroll from Berwick House. It was built in 1672, seats up to 170 guests, and is adorned with stained glass, bells, and an original organ. Seat up to 120 guests in the double Drawing Room for an extravagant wedding breakfast — or take it to a marquee in the gardens for an even larger formality. Up to 300 guests can enjoy the interior of Berwick House—host family and friends across Berwick’s 18 unique and magnificent bedrooms.
