The Bridal Suite
Overlooking Newberry Beach and the Combe Martin Harbour, the beachfront bridal suite, with its beautiful wide balcony, gives you stunning views of the Devon coastline.
The spacious suite sleeps two and includes a super comfy king-sized bed, a claw foot bath, shower, and cloakroom, as well as a small kitchen area with a fridge. French doors lead out on to a wide balcony area, with incredible views out to sea. Book the suite for the same day as your wedding and spend your first night here as a married couple, with dinner delivered by a local restaurant. Or book the suite for the night before the wedding – perfect for a sunrise ceremony.
Or just use the bridal suite on the day as somewhere to relax and get ready with your wedding party. It’s the perfect place to sit and enjoy that early morning cup of coffee as the sun comes up or a celebratory glass of fizz as the sun sets.
The wedding venue is booked in two hour windows and is available to use for 1 hour and 45 minutes. This gives us 15 minutes at the end of each ceremony to prepare the venue for the next couple.
It’s completely up to you! But as a guide, if you’ve booked Arches from 10am to midday, you might have a friend or wedding planner arrive at the venue at 10am and set up the music or add a few personal styling touches such as photos. You can even change the overall colour of the room if you want to as we have LED lights installed.
Guests might start arriving from 10.15am onwards. The bride arrives at 10.30am and makes final preparations in the dressing room. At 10.45am the ceremony begins. And then from 11am you have time to mingle with your guests in the venue or the garden before leaving at 11.45am.
No, there isn’t a kitchen or any kind of food preparation area at the wedding venue. But we do allow street food or catering for a drinks reception.
There are numerous weddings at Arches during the course of one day. But there’s only one bridal suite! So if you definitely want the bridal suite on the night before or after your wedding, check that it’s available before you book the wedding venue. The bridal suite can be booked overnight from 3pm to 11am.
There are steps leading down from the car park above, right down to the front of the venue, where you’ll find the doors open in time for your ceremony. A public pathway also runs in front of the venue. This can be accessed via steps from the A399 (Woodlands) one end and via a ramp from Woodlands the other.
The ramp which runs from Woodlands makes it easy to get to the venue as a wheelchair user, while access to the venue itself is via a small ramp at side of the building. Please note that wheelchair access to the garden is limited.
