Sandon Hall sits within the Staffordshire countryside, just outside Stafford, forming part of a long-established family estate. The historic country house is defined by its grand interiors, formal gardens and a sense of quiet separation that comes from hosting only one wedding at a time. With no other events taking place, the house and grounds remain entirely focused on your celebration.
The setting offers variety and scale, from manicured gardens to historic architecture, giving couples flexibility across the day. Whether welcoming a small gathering or a larger celebration, the estate provides space, privacy and a strong sense of place, all within easy reach of the West Midlands.
Ceremonies at Sandon Hall can be held across a choice of indoor and outdoor settings, each with its own scale and character. Within the house, couples can select from a range of elegant rooms, allowing ceremonies to feel intimate or more expansive depending on guest numbers. The Conservatory seats up to 60 guests, the Library up to 80, and the Drawing Room up to 120.
For larger gatherings, the Temple Garden offers an outdoor option for up to 250 guests. Couples may also choose a church ceremony at All Saints Church, located on the Sandon Hall estate and available to hire separately. Just a short drive, or carriage ride, from the house, it provides a traditional setting that connects naturally with a reception back at the Hall.
Receptions at Sandon Hall are shaped around flexibility and exclusivity. Inside the house, elegant reception rooms seat up to 120 guests, creating a focused, uninterrupted experience. For summer weddings, marquee receptions can be arranged within the ornamental gardens, allowing celebrations to extend outdoors while retaining the structure of a formal setting.
With a choice of spaces and no competing events on site, the day unfolds at a calm, steady pace. From drinks to dining and evening celebrations, the Hall adapts easily to both intimate gatherings and larger occasions.
Sandon Hall estate offers two on-site accommodation options: The Agency and Reeves Cottages. Both offer private accommodation and luxurious comfort in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside.
The Agency, located close to the main house and sleeping up to eight guests, is the perfect accommodation for marrying couples celebrating their wedding at Sandon Hall, or for small groups seeking a country retreat. Reeves Cottages, sleeping up to four guests, is located nearer the edge of the estate and is a newly refurbished two-bedroom rural cottage that is ideal for more intimate weddings.
Delicious feasting is always one of the best parts of the day. The venue’s catering partners can promise you the perfect dining experience with carefully curated menus, designed to bring people together.
Sandon Hall is just outside Stafford and is straightforward to reach by car. The entrance to the estate sits opposite The Dog & Doublet pub. From there, guests pass through the bollards and follow the drive to the top, where the Hall comes into view. Please mind the sheep!
