The Setting
London-based Soho House & Co and New York’s Sydell Group have joined forces to create The Ned: a hotel, club and collection of restaurants in the City of London. Set in the iconic former Midland Bank building, The Ned was designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens in 1924. The heritage building opened in Spring 2017.
The Vibe
Your Wedding
The Ned’s six private hire rooms and terraces are among the building’s most elegant spaces. Ideal for wedding celebrations, the rooms have a capacity of between 10 – 200 guests.
Getting Ready
The spa and grooming spaces at The Ned bring together a range of men’s and women’s services in a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. The spa includes a 20 metre indoor pool, hammam and steam and sauna rooms.
In the spa you’ll find Cowshed; a one-stop shop for head-to-toe maintenance, and Ned’s Parlour; their hairdressing salon.
For the gents there’s Ned’s Barbershop, a classic, speakeasy-style barbershop for the modern man, offering everything from a haircut to a traditional wet shave or facial.
Bedrooms
Brass and mahogany furniture, chandeliers and richly patterned furnishings decorate The Ned’s 250 bedrooms. Each room channels 1920s design, with vintage pieces, hand-knotted Afghan rugs and rainforest showers.
Eating & Drinking
Eight public restaurants in the former Grand Banking Hall serve food that spans the globe, from Britain to Northern Italy, North America to Asia.
Pricing
Packages at The Ned start at £30,000 for 100 guests, but the weddings team can create bespoke, tailored wedding celebrations from £200 per person.
