Hever Castle is set within 600 acres of beautiful Kent countryside, offering sweeping views across its historic estate. Once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the castle’s story is marked by events that helped shape Britain’s monarchy and religious history. Today, its tranquil surroundings offer a striking contrast to its dramatic past.
Whether you are planning an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, dreaming of a sun-filled summer afternoon or a cosy winter evening by a roaring log fire, Hever Castle provides a truly memorable setting to be enjoyed in every season.
Couples have three settings to choose from.
Wedding breakfasts in the Castle are held in the Great Hall. In the Astor Wing, drinks can be served in the Music Room or outside on the private lawns if the weather is kind. For Italian Garden weddings, the Loggia and lakeside setting can also be used for drinks receptions.
Guests can stay in the Astor Wing’s five-star bedrooms, each individually styled with antique features alongside modern comforts.
The weddings team is dedicated to making each celebration as environmentally responsible as possible and has joined the Sustainable Wedding Alliance to continually develop more eco-friendly practices. Menus focus on seasonal ingredients from trusted local suppliers, complemented by wines from nearby vineyards. Thoughtful menu planning helps to reduce food waste, while the sales team has completed Carbon Literacy training to deepen their understanding of sustainable event management.
Across the estate, heating is provided by a biomass boiler, which uses timber fuel largely sourced from local woodlands. Solar panels installed on the boiler roof are expected to generate around 43,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. In the restaurants, local produce is used wherever possible, and all food waste is collected daily for composting. Grass cuttings, prunings and seasonal garden waste are added to create nutrient-rich compost, which is then used to nourish the gardens and grounds.
