Hanbury Manor sits amid 200 acres of parkland in Ware, Hertfordshire, its grounds defined by landscaped gardens, fairways, and mature trees. The estate’s Jacobean architecture offers a striking backdrop, with polished interiors and high ceilings that allow natural light to fill every room. Outside, gentle walks across the lawns and views of the 18-hole golf course add calm and space to your day. With multiple event spaces, you can shape your celebration to feel intimate or expansive, all within a setting that balances historic character with contemporary comfort.
Couples can choose from a variety of spaces for their vows.
Poles Hall, a converted chapel, offers vaulted ceilings, chandeliers, and a minstrels’ gallery for a traditional ceremony. For a more contemporary setting, the Thundridge Suite overlooks the golf course, letting light spill across the room. Between May and September, the walled garden offers an outdoor ceremony, surrounded by manicured lawns and mature planting. Each space allows for careful choreography, ensuring your ceremony feels personal and uninterrupted, whether indoors or outside.
After the ceremony, receptions continue seamlessly in spaces designed for both atmosphere and practicality.
Garden Court and Summer House offer floor-to-ceiling windows, a cosy fireplace, and soft lighting that complements your top table. Summer House transforms from ceremony space to dance floor without interruption, keeping your guests together from first toast to last dance. Poles Hall and Thundridge Suite offer larger parties a combination of classic charm and contemporary functionality, with adjacent bars and flexible layouts for evening entertainment.
Hanbury Manor offers bespoke wedding packages, guided by a dedicated team to help you realise your day. Their Wish List provides inspiration for personal touches, ensuring each wedding feels considered and truly personal to you.

Hanbury Manor integrates sustainability across its operations. Rainwater from gutters feeds estate lakes, while high-efficiency dishwashers and glasswashers reduce water use. LED lighting cuts energy consumption, and the hotel works with energy specialists to monitor and limit waste. 100% of hotel waste is segregated, with recycling and waste-to-energy systems ensuring nothing ends up in landfill. Cooking oil is repurposed into fuel, and single-use plastic bottles have been replaced with reusable alternatives. Digital systems reduce paper use across departments. These measures reflect an ongoing commitment to thoughtful, responsible stewardship of the estate.
The estate offers easy access to both countryside and city highlights. Explore Hatfield House, Knebworth House, or take a stroll along the Lee Valley White Water Centre Olympic course. For Harry Potter fans, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is nearby, while Hertfordshire Zoo provides a quieter day out. With London just 25 miles away, cultural and historic excursions are within easy reach, giving guests the chance to extend their visit beyond your wedding day.

When bringing in a cake from an external supplier, we require a food disclaimer to be signed by the supplier. We require a full list of allergens or ingredients to comply with allergen laws, and this list must be displayed with the cake when served to guests. The cake should be delivered on the day of the wedding and set up by the cake supplier. If this is not possible, a member of your wedding party will need to set the cake up for you. We do not store or refrigerate cakes.
Items can only be delivered the day before your event at your handover meeting. All items left at the end of your wedding are left at your own risk and are to be collected by midday the day after the wedding. Any items left past the agreed period above will be disposed of by the hotel.
The hotel staff do not make announcements; this will need to be done by a toastmaster or a member of the wedding party, e.g., the best man/bridesmaid, a friend, or the couple's parents. Please arrange this and let your wedding expert know who this person will be.
Our bars are typically bottle-only. Please speak with your wedding expert to enquire about possible draught options.
Specific rooms can be requested, but they cannot be guaranteed. We will always do our best to ensure that your requests are met, but this is not always possible. Where possible, we will aim to upgrade the happy couple. We have 4 King suites and 7 Junior suites, all of which are wedding suites.
We have ample parking around the hotel, throughout 4 car parks, which your wedding guests may use. If you have any guests who are elderly or have difficulty walking, there are accessible parking spaces outside our Leisure Club, which they are welcome to use with a blue badge displayed.
