Set in the untouched beauty of Tuscany’s Maremma, Castello di Vicarello is a 12th-century private estate offering total seclusion, sweeping views, and the kind of timeless romance couples cross the world to find. Halfway between Rome and Florence, the castle is surrounded by 40 hectares of organic vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills – a retreat defined by tranquillity, authenticity, and impeccable taste.
This is luxury at its most soulful. Centuries of history, award-winning design, and extraordinary farm-to-table cuisine come together in a setting that feels intimate, cinematic, and deeply connected to the land.
Castello di Vicarello offers a choice of atmospheric locations for both civil and symbolic ceremonies, from sun-drenched terraces and romantic courtyards to panoramic gardens overlooking the Maremma hills. Catholic ceremonies can also be arranged at a charming nearby church.
Each setting has its own character, allowing couples to shape a moment that feels personal and authentically Tuscan – whether intimate or grand in scale.
The estate’s natural beauty sets the tone for celebrations that unfold effortlessly from day to night.
Welcome drinks by the infinity pools, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees; aperitivo served in the castle courtyard or high on the panoramic roof terrace; dinner beneath the stars on the grand field; and an open bar with live music and dancing until sunrise – with no curfew to interrupt the atmosphere.
The following day, couples and guests gather for brunch beside the olive-grove pool, easing into the slow rhythm of life at Vicarello.
With over 20 years of wedding expertise, the team curates every detail: food, wine, florals, table settings, entertainment, and marquees, ensuring every moment feels beautifully considered.
The estate sleeps up to 30 guests across ten suites and a two-bedroom villa with its own private pool. The spaces blend historic architecture with warm, contemporary design, each suite individually styled and deeply comfortable.
For larger celebrations, the estate arranges accommodation for over 100 additional guests at trusted properties within 3-15 km, with shuttle services provided.
High-season weddings require a minimum three-night exclusive stay with a trio of planned events; low-season bookings (November-April) require a minimum of two nights.
At Castello di Vicarello, food is a way of life. Seasonal ingredients are grown in the estate’s organic kitchen gardens and harvested at their peak. Every dish reflects Tuscan tradition – simple, honest, expertly crafted, and rooted in the flavours of the land.
Guests can enjoy organic eggs from the estate’s free-range chickens and olive oil produced from Vicarello’s own groves.
The castle’s vineyard, created by Carlo Baccheschi Berti and his son Brando, produces award-winning wines made from organic grapes grown on the surrounding slopes – a true expression of the region.
Local and organic sourcing is central to every culinary experience, ensuring quality, sustainability, and unmistakably Tuscan flavour.
Vicarello sits in the heart of the Maremma, surrounded by peaceful countryside yet within easy reach of some of Tuscany’s most iconic destinations.
