With a focus on local producers, sustainability, and effortless romance, the shoot highlights how a small, intimate setting can feel both whimsical and elegant, with soft, warm tones, garden-inspired details, and relaxed styling that feels completely personal. I’m an autumn, but gosh, this has me craving those late summer days.

The Cornish Place is a charming, rustic venue ideal for small weddings. We love supporting local producers, so it was a joy to feature Wild Rose Cornwall, a local florist who grows her own blooms, showcasing the season’s last flowers in our new Glasshouse — still brimming with tomatoes and aubergines. Sarah from Lyra & Moth captured the day perfectly with her whimsical, romantic style, which complements the intimate countryside setting beautifully.

The end of summer – golden days in the countryside with a keen focus on local producers and sustainability. The tablecloths, sourced from a local designer, provided a backdrop for a colourful garden party aesthetic, featuring relaxed grazing food and a slab wedding cake.

Local dressmaker Ailsa Munroe created a bespoke dress for the shoot with an unusual sleeve design she wanted to try out, inspired by a sleeve worn in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, which was then reprised on Bridgerton. Ailsa handcrafts one-off, bespoke, romantic, made-to-measure dresses.
Make-up was kept soft and light to pair with the simple elegance of the dress, and the model’s auburn hair was complemented with warm-toned browns, a warm blush and a peachy nude lip. Ione styled the model’s stunning long hair into soft waves to frame her face, adorned with fresh flowers that perfectly complemented the romantic garden theme of the shoot.
The handmade gown was completed with handmade jewellery. Gold was the obvious choice to team with the model’s light auburn hair and the peachy, warm hues of the flowers.

We started with the stunning linen tablecloth designed by local artist Dinette Boutique. This was paired with pastel coloured candlesticks and candles. Couples are always welcome to use our collection of stone and glassware for their decor, so we incorporated this into our stunning new Glasshouse, which is already filled with jasmine, tomato, and aubergine plants.
The food was an important part of this shoot – local cheeses and charcuterie to create a relaxed grazing table and a slab cake decorated with garden flowers and fruit, making it easy for everyone to tuck in. Invitations were designed to mirror the garden setting by a local artist in relaxed, stylish watercolours.

Our tips for couples looking to recreate this style are to keep suppliers local and sustainable. To create a romantic and whimsical look, don’t get hung up on having 100 matching candlesticks and vases; instead, work with what is available, bringing the style together with candles, foliage, and flowers in warm pastel hues. The tablecloth was a unique and eye-catching starting point, and the rest of the look grew from that. A relaxed look created with love will shine through!
