With fresh summer tones, a Sassi Holford gown, and a feast that included lemon tart and wood-fired pizza, this celebration was equal parts graceful and grounded — a true reflection of the couple themselves. Over to Bride Cat for all the details…

We wanted somewhere that we could spend the weekend with our closest friends and family. When we found Cluny Castle online, it had everything that we were looking for and more.
From looking at the pictures, we knew it would be lovely, but when we visited for the first time, we were blown away by just how spectacular it was. The castle was very much like something out of a fairytale. From the moment we saw it emerging from the landscape, we immediately knew this was something special. We would wholeheartedly recommend Cluny Castle, from the breathtaking venue itself to the amazing team that were so helpful in making sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. Our guests still comment on what a fantastic day it was.

I wore a dress made by Sassi Holford with a wreath crown designed by Scarlett and Wolfe. David wore a Hunting Pride tartan kilt with a dark green tweed jacket from McCalls.
We wanted quite a natural colour palette with summery tones of white and green. We were looking for the flowers and foliage to be textured and whimsical, like a meadow, to create a light and airy feel.
We had the amazing Platter & Pop that put together wonderful floral installations, pew ends, and table bud vases for us based on our summery theme. I particularly liked white cosmos and daisies, and Sophie perfectly incorporated what I had envisioned into the flowers.

Platter & Pop also took care of our catering, including canapés at the drinks reception, a three-course plated meal, and freshly made pizzas for our evening buffet. My favourite was the lemon tart dessert with torched meringue. David loved the haggis bon-bon starter.
Our wedding cake was made by Alanna at Lana-Lou’s Cake Studio. We had a white three-tier cake with a cascade of dried flowers at the front. Each tier was a different flavour as it was so hard to choose just one.

Natalie Holt, our photographer, was great at making us feel at ease. She has the perfect balance of posed and more candid shots. We also had a videographer, Megan (Xana Creative), to capture special moments from the day.

It’s so hard to pick one as there were many wonderful moments. For me, walking down the aisle in the Chapel and seeing all the faces of those I know and love was special.
David’s favourite part of the day was the castle itself and being able to enjoy all of the incredible rooms and interiors.

Try not to be nervous or stressed and just enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly, so make sure to take a moment to look around and take it all in.
