BMA House enchants with its serene outdoor spaces and elegant indoor settings. The venue rests in a historic area within Bloomsbury, providing a tranquil atmosphere that feels timeless and inviting. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1911, the Grade II listed building features grand architecture and a blend of impressive rooms with natural light pouring into each space.
With a wedding licence across four grand and elegant rooms, it accommodates up to 200 guests for ceremonies and wedding breakfasts. However, the venue’s charm lies in its outdoor spaces, including The Courtyard and The Garden.
The Snow and Paget Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling arched windows that fill them with natural light. The Paget Room, a traditional choice, showcases exquisite Spanish mahogany pillars and two magnificent fireplaces, offering direct access to the Courtyard. This setting is ideal for couples wishing to celebrate their commitment in a grand yet intimate atmosphere.
For smaller, intimate weddings, the charming Prince’s Room awaits on the upper level. It showcases a stunning glass chandelier and abundant daylight. Its circular design features Corinthian columns beautifully finished with gold leaf throughout.
The Garden Room, with its striking contemporary design, offers a lovely option for pre-dinner drinks, especially in the event of inclement weather. Its impressive 24-foot ceiling creates a spacious atmosphere, perfect for smaller receptions.
The Courtyard and the Garden are enchanting outdoor spaces that provide the perfect backdrop for pre-dinner drinks. The Courtyard, featuring a lovely central fountain and intricate gates, caters to larger wedding parties, while the romantic Garden, with its ornamental pond, offers exquisite surroundings for memorable photographs in the sunshine.
The Snow Room, located on the ground floor, is a popular choice for wedding breakfasts. Its light-filled space transforms into an inviting reception area, complete with colourful mood lighting that sets the stage for lively dancing.
The Great Hall, the venue’s flagship room, boasts two small balconies that overlook the Courtyard, providing stunning vantage points for photographers capturing group wedding shots. The grand feature pillars reach from floor to ceiling, embellished with BMA House’s signature gold leaf. A stage at the front of the room awaits bands or entertainment, adding to the celebratory spirit of the occasion.
The dedicated team at BMA House acts as personal “Toast Masters,”;; guiding couples from enquiry to the final dance, ensuring each detail is attended to with care.
