Wild Berry Farm is a private family estate spanning 350 acres of North Bedfordshire countryside. The Lakeside, one of the farm’s most picturesque meadows, offers uninterrupted views over a vast lake and open fields. Lush river meadows and woodland surround the water’s edge, creating a breathtaking natural backdrop.
The Lakeside is not licensed for legal ceremonies, but couples can exchange vows in a setting of their choice, whether lakeside or within their selected structure. The venue connects couples with experienced celebrants who can create a unique and personal ceremony. There are no restrictions on music, readings, or personal touches, including pets or drinks! The venue’s team will arrange seating, manage music, and coordinate with the celebrant to ensure a smooth processional entrance. There is no additional charge for holding a ceremony at The Lakeside.
Following the ceremony, guests can enjoy an alfresco drinks reception overlooking the lake or within a chosen structure. The front-of-house team will circulate drinks and canapés as guests explore the wildflower meadows and lakeside jetty. Lounge seating and shaded structures can be arranged for your guest’s comfort, and there is ample space for entertainment.
The Sun Inn, the estate’s 17th-century thatched pub, offers two luxury suites.
Lakeside couples receive priority booking and an exclusive second-night discount.
The Sun Inn’s award-winning team, featured on ITV and in the Good Food Guide, The Times and the Top 50 gastropubs, provide in-house catering with a bespoke menu tailored to each couple. Options range from fine dining to sharing feasts, including a complimentary tasting. Head Chef Pete, formerly a private chef for the Duke of Bedford, ensures a high standard of dining.
Drinks packages can be fully customised, or couples can provide their own for a service charge. A staffed indoor bar is included, offering draught options. Couples may also arrange a bespoke bar counter and add on cocktail hour packages.
While in-house catering is required for the wedding breakfast, food trucks and external caterers are permitted after 7:30pm.
The estate prioritises sustainable farming and conservation. Native tree planting, meadow restoration, and wildlife-friendly practices ensure that the landscape thrives. The venue hosts a limited number of weddings each year, allowing the land to return to nature in the off-season. Livestock, including rare-breed cattle, pigs, and poultry, are ethically raised, with much of the produce supplied to The Sun Inn.
Radwell and Felmersham, two nearby villages, offer charm and countryside activities. Felmersham features a 13th-century church, a historic tithe barn, and scenic river access popular for kayaking and paddleboarding. The surrounding villages of Sharnbrook, Turvey, and Milton Ernest provide additional accommodation, farm shops, cafés, and boutique hotels, making it an ideal location for an extended stay.
Located between Radwell and Felmersham, The Lakeside is both secluded and well-connected. Bedford, just seven miles away, provides direct train links to London, Luton Airport, and Gatwick Airport. The venue is within a 30-minute drive of the M1 and A1, ensuring easy access for guests.
The perfect venue for our wedding – couldn’t recommend highly enough. Hannah and the team were so incredibly helpful from start to finish.
The Sun as an addition for the Bridal Suite was the cherry on top – we loved every part of it!
Married June 2024
We couldn’t recommend Wild Berry Farm and their team highly enough! We got married in May, and Hannah and the team were simply amazing.
From start to finish, they were incredibly responsive and patient, always taking the time to understand our ideas and vision and translate it into something beautiful.
Pete and the team at The Sun went above and beyond, working with our ideas to create the most amazing menu. Where possible, Pete used seasonal, local ingredients, including asparagus from the neighbouring field!! Pete also did a fantastic job behind the bar, whipping up the most delicious cocktails, which our guests loved.
On the day itself, the coordination was flawless. Everyone worked together to make sure everything went off without a hitch, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy our special day. Hannah is an absolute boss and had everything sorted perfectly. We can’t thank you enough.
We were fortunate enough to stay in the suite at the Sun, which was absolutely beautiful. If you can, book it – it’s incredible and (again) the team are just fantastic and couldn’t have done more for us.
We couldn’t have honestly asked for anything more!

Where do we start in reviewing our experience with The Lakeside team? We were set on a wedding that felt super personal and wasn’t a ‘conveyor belt’ wedding. The Lakeside got our vision completely and made the day so special to us!
Hannah was sensational from start to finish. She met with us regularly, guiding us through the process, coordinated with all the suppliers to ensure all went to plan, had a sewing kit to hand when my wedding dress broke and even dropped us back at our hotel at the end of the night!
The day was stress-free and seamless for us, and managing 150 guest food orders and bar service is no mean feat!
We used the food at The Sun and were not let down! They provided us with a completely bespoke menu at a really reasonable price. All the guests commented on how amazing the food was – meat-filled pies and plenty of canapes. No one went hungry!
All in all, a wedding that all enjoyed. Especially us. Thank you!
Married May 2024
Just over two years ago, we visited the Lakeside by Wild Berry Farm, and honestly, it was love at first sight. We feel so incredibly lucky that we happened to visit on a day when another wedding was taking place because seeing the venue come alive just sealed the deal for us.
We were warmly greeted by Hannah from Fields and Festoons, whose genuine love and passion for the venue were absolutely infectious. She didn’t need to do much selling because the venue just spoke for itself. The gorgeous combination of open fields, that beautiful lake, and the lovely marquees ticked every single box on our must-have list. But honestly, what we loved most was finding people who cared about our wedding as much as we did. That meant absolutely everything to us.
Working with all the local vendors was like watching a little family come together. Everyone was so lovely and genuinely invested in making our day absolutely perfect. The love and care from everyone involved were overwhelming in the best possible way.
Our wedding day was everything we had dreamed of and so much more. We’re still floating on cloud nine! The swans emerged from the lake to make their VIP guest appearance. The staff from The Sun Inn were absolutely phenomenal, so warm, friendly, and looked after everyone brilliantly. The whole atmosphere was filled with so much love and joy.
We cannot express enough gratitude to our photographer and wedding planner, who were truly the backbone of our entire celebration. Their incredible organisation, commitment, and ability to keep us calm and relaxed throughout the day will be appreciated for the rest of our lives. They brought our vision to life with such incredible attention to detail and genuine care. You could feel the love they put into everything.
Every single element was absolutely perfect. The venue, the team, the vendors, the setting, everything came together in the most magical way possible. Lakeside by Wild Berry Farm and the entire team created the most special, love-filled day of our lives.
We cannot recommend The Lakeside by Wild Berry highly enough – it is worth every penny!
