The Cornish Place unfolds over 26 acres, nestled between Truro and Falmouth along the serene, tree-lined lanes of West Cornwall. This idyllic retreat boasts 11 fields of lush pasture and vibrant wildflower meadows, offering guests a picturesque backdrop to their celebration. The expansive playfield invites spontaneous games, while the picnic field, adorned with rugs and blankets, presents sweeping countryside views. A designated dog-walking area caters to four-legged companions. This tranquil rural location promises fresh air and peacefulness, ensuring a perfect escape from the everyday.
Multiple enchanting ceremony options await; The Woodshed, with its rustic charm and vaulted ceiling, offers an intimate setting for up to 20 guests. Alternatively, the Piggery presents a contemporary atmosphere with its expansive picture window framing the surrounding countryside. For those seeking an outdoor experience, there are seven licensed venues to choose from, including the scenic Courtyard and the picturesque hilltop with breathtaking views.
The Piggery serves as the heart of most receptions, featuring double barn doors that open onto the Courtyard, allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Guests can arrange trestle tables to suit their needs, creating a relaxed atmosphere for al fresco dining. Smaller groups can find cosy dining options within the cottages, fostering intimacy and connection among loved ones.
Each wedding is tailored to perfection, guided by a dedicated wedding coordinator who will assist in crafting a personalised celebration.
Accommodation is thoughtfully designed across three luxurious cottages, each offering private gardens and hot tubs for a tranquil retreat. Guests enjoy their own spaces while coming together in communal areas to celebrate. Each cottage is equipped with wood-burning stoves, state-of-the-art appliances, rainfall showers, and the most comfortable beds in the world! The intimate setting encourages connection among guests, with dogs welcomed to partake in the celebration.
Self-catering options abound, from DIY barbecues to fine dining, the possibilities are endless. The Paddock bar and outdoor kitchen, stocked with Cornish beverages, are available on the wedding day. An extensive supplier list helps couples connect with the best caterers, ensuring every meal is tailored to taste.
The Cornish Place is situated in a very peaceful spot, so although parties are encouraged, celebrations here aren’t wild affairs, and outdoor noise must stop by midnight.
A commitment to sustainability permeates the venue, ensuring every celebration minimises environmental impact. Couples receive a tree to plant as a lasting memory, fostering a connection to the land. The cottages feature air-source heat pumps and renewable energy, with water sourced from a UV-treated borehole. The venue encourages guests to reduce single-use plastics and offers loaner decorations to support this mission.
The Cornish Place enjoys a prime location within the ‘skinny bit’ of Cornwall, with beaches just 7 miles away on either coast. Stithians village lies a mere mile away, accessible by road or through scenic walks, offering a local pub and convenience stores. Nearby, Stithians Reservoir beckons with water sports opportunities and a delightful café, while the Mineral Tramway bike trail offers adventure for cycling enthusiasts. Falmouth, a foodie paradise, is just a short drive away, perfect for intimate dining experiences.
The owners live onsite and can help curate your entire stay with suggestions for day trips and help source local produce for barbecues and pizza nights.
The Cornish Place is located just 15 minutes from the A30 for easy access. Couples can arrive by car, with a drive from London taking approximately 4.5 hours.
Nearby, Redruth station is only 10 minutes away by train, while Newquay Airport, a 40-minute drive, offers car hire and taxi services for seamless onward travel.
Where to begin? I think I will start off by saying that if you are even thinking of having a smaller, intimate wedding here at The Cornish Place, just do it! I am so glad that we did, as it was the most magical experience of our lives.
Andi and Adam are the most attentive hosts who know exactly what they can do to make your day special. Everything ran seamlessly on the day and I didn’t even notice they were there the majority of the time. Working tirelessly in the background to get everything in place just at the right time. I cannot thank them enough! They really made us feel like nothing else mattered the entire stay and you could tell that they both really care just as much as you do. I planned my wedding here in just 3 months, and although I do pride myself on being a very organised person, Andi and Adams’s relationships with their recommended suppliers really were the reason why everything went so swimmingly. I can hand on heart say that every single supplier they recommend was perfect for us, all on time, knew exactly what and where the items needed to go without me having to be involved on the day and met of brief to the word. The different spaces that you use on the wedding day are also so unique and perfect for the occasion. The Woodshed is the perfect place to get married with intimate and relaxed vibes. The Piggery is also so intimate, with a stunning feature window, and the new bar was perfect toward the end of the night, which we used as dry hire. All our guests appreciated the space to have a dance and celebrate there!
The cottages and venue itself are so dreamy and everything I hoped it would be and more! When we arrived we were both blown away with the beauty of the place, the courtyard is stunning and has so many spots for people to congregate and enjoy the space. The cottages are spotless, well-designed and, again, stunning! The windows in all the cottages frame the countryside perfectly, as someone who loves a good view I really appreciated this! The beds and pillows are super comfy, everything in the cottages feels expensive, and no costs were cut to give the guests the best experience possible. All the finer details really make your experience what it is, from the Cornish hampers you receive with the most incredible local delights to making sure your hot tub is just the right temperature when you arrive.
All I have to say is thank you, thank you! The Cornish Place will always have a piece of our hearts, and we will be coming back time and time again to relive the most perfect day that you both made possible.

Andi and Adam are so person-centred. They just understand the assignment you’re after when you book, and everything you could manifest is there, thanks to them and their ever-listening ears and knowledge of the surrounding areas.
They provide so many little moments in your stay that you will hold dear to the precious memories you make together within your time at this dream like place. We got to plant a tree together that has a personalised tag, we were gifted fizz we enjoyed in our wood burning hot tub. We had a hamper which included cheese which tasted so good my husband took a photo of it (to put this in perspective my husband took approximately 5 photos in our entire stay, in which we got married).
They are just lovely people who clearly want to celebrate, encourage and be part of people coming together and enjoying life in a beautiful place. Personally, I can’t think of a more valid and beautiful reason for Andi and Adam creating the Cornish place, and we not only rate them as human beings, we also want to rate them on the internet. They deserve every star the internet throws at them to prove the Cornish place is the one.
Married February 2024
We were lucky enough to hold our wedding at The Cornish Place this month, and it was nothing short of perfect.
I remember the exact moment I found The Cornish Place whilst looking for our wedding venue online and I couldn’t quite believe it. I had begun to think I wanted something that didn’t exist. A high-end but relaxed venue where we could take our kids and very close family and spend time getting married, but also a place to make memories and have a break away from it all. Somewhere that really focused on intimate weddings rather than it being an ‘add on ‘ to the big weddings. The Cornish place had it all.
Andi’s engagement from the moment I first called to the morning we hugged goodbye as we left after our wonderful stay was just the right amount of ‘everything’. Knowledge, suggestions, a spot on supplier list focused on smaller weddings, lots of flexibility and an approach that made me feel like it was all about us .
What Andi and Adam have created is very special. High-quality, thoughtfully designed accommodation with so many lovely little touches to make your stay extra special. A laid-back vibe in a simply stunning location, views everywhere you turn. Lots of wonderful spaces to meet as a group, eat, chat and just be together.
The magic ingredient to The Cornish place is Andi and Adam. Always there when you needed them but never intrusive. They made you feel utterly welcome and are just really lovely people that care so much about what they do you can’t help but fall in love with The Cornish Place too (not that we needed persuading!).
If you are lucky enough to find The Cornish Place like we were, having a wedding or holiday there will honestly be the best thing you do.

Usually, yes! Unless babies are so small that they don't require a highchair, then they can be additional. Babysitters are available if needed. Cots can be provided in the main bedrooms.
Absolutely! We love a dog-friendly wedding and can arrange a dog sitter to help if required while you are getting ready. Dogs must be on their leads in communal areas, but we have a 3-acre dog-walking field where they are welcome to run free.
No. Apart from caterers, as we prefer you use people who know our setup and are happy to cook in a domestic kitchen.
No suppliers pay us commission or pay to be recommended-they are all just the best at what they do, so we recommend them to make all our lives happier and easier! Some weddings are entirely DIY and don't use any suppliers at all.
The Paddock Bar is a covered outdoor space filled with local Cornish tipples to showcase local suppliers. If you prefer to provide your own drinks, we charge £300 to remove our stock, fill it with your selection and run the bar for up to 5 hours on your wedding day at times to be agreed upon.
We can suggest amazing suppliers who can drop off breakfast platters or cook you up a breakfast feast! You can also delegate one of your party members to use the facilities in their cottage to provide your own!
No, we hold your hand throughout the planning process, get stuck in with styling, and are with you throughout your big day in the background, moving flowers, laying tables, and liaising with suppliers. We are here to help, and we love it!
No, we prefer the personal touch, so we are very happy to arrange a video call viewing. During this time, we can answer any questions you may have as we go along. We do have videos of our accommodation and the communal areas on our website.
