About
Setting

An exclusive haven near Cambridge, just 3 miles from the vibrant city, Histon Manor sits on 11 acres of private grounds, providing an idyllic dry hire venue for wedding receptions. The allure of this venue lies in its exclusivity, allowing only five weddings per year. Surrounded by trees, the grounds offer a secluded and private environment, ensuring an intimate and personal celebration.

Histon Manor’s grounds are a canvas for creating the perfect outdoor event. Marquees can grace the front lawn, with drinks receptions by the fountain in the formal gardens. For a more relaxed and informal festival vibe, the old tennis court lawn, embraced by woodlands and fields, is the ideal setting.

A mere 10-15 minutes from Cambridge city centre, the venue is conveniently located in a vibrant village, offering guests diverse accommodation options and exciting pre-wedding activities.

Vibe

A Histon Manor wedding unfolds in unique and versatile spaces, allowing couples to craft a beautifully distinct celebration. From formal gardens to a moated island, guests can explore varied settings that align with the desired vibe for the day. The venue’s enchanting ambience, described by a recent wedding guest as having “muted grandeur,” creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, making every guest feel at home.

Histon Manor embraces freedom in wedding customisation, accommodating anything from a relaxed festival-style gathering to a formal wedding ball. Celebrant and humanist ceremonies and wedding receptions find a perfect home here. With no restrictions on suppliers, couples are invited to curate their dream celebration.

While the venue offers a little black book of contacts for guidance, it collaborates with leading UK wedding planners for stress-free planning and that touch of magic.

It’s worth noting that Histon Manor, launching as a venue in September 2023, limits weddings to just five per year, ensuring an exclusive and newly discovered gem for couples seeking a distinctive wedding experience.

“

We are still reliving every moment of the day—such a joy! Histon Manor was the perfect venue for the reception—simply beautiful. We had an absolutely wonderful day, and Histon Manor provided a stunning backdrop.

Married September 2023

Mother of the Bride

It was the most unforgettable day, and we still can’t believe how perfectly everything came together. The gardens and marquee were even more beautiful than we could’ve imagined. A huge thank you to you too, Katherine. We’re so grateful to have met you on that crisp Tuesday morning in January, and you’ve been endlessly supportive, accommodating, and all-round lovely the entire time. We made sure our guests raised a cheer to you during our speeches!

I wanted to thank you, Katherine, for being incredibly supportive, caring, generous and kind throughout this journey. Your energy, enthusiasm and love for our day made it all the more special. H really felt special and cared about during what can be a stressful time. I am so glad we got to get you a drink and have a little boogie on the day! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a huge part of what was one the best days of our lives

H & T

We had an unforgettable wedding reception at Histon Manor. The grounds offered a beautiful and flexible space, and Katherine was incredibly supportive. Her experience and flexibility ensured that everything was perfectly positioned, creating a true summer wonderland for our guests. The bridal party’s use of the Manor’s rooms to get ready was very elegant and relaxing, and the balcony provided a fab setting for a group photo. Histon Manor surpassed all our expectations!

FAQs
Do you provide marquees?

Our weddings are bespoke, so we do not have a pre-erected marquee on the grounds. We work with various suppliers who offer tailored marquees ranging from stretch and bell tents to more traditional marquees. The largest marquee we can support seats up to 250 guests, including room for a dance floor and a catering tent.

Where do your couples get married since you don't have a wedding license?

We have couples who marry in their University of Cambridge college, their local church or at a local registry office and then come to us for the party of their dreams. We also have couples who marry in advance and then host a blessing ceremony on the grounds before all their guests.

Do you have overnight accommodation?

We do not offer this currently, but Cambridge provides a vast range of accommodation and is only a short taxi ride away. Couples may consider organising a coach to return to the city after the celebration.

I love the flexibility of dry hire, but is it a lot to organise?

It's a beautiful feeling having your wedding venue perfectly created by you. Marquee weddings look so stylish and give you the freedom to design your perfect day. But yes, there is more to organise, but maybe less than you think. Once the basics are chosen and booked, such as the marquee, the furniture for the marquee, power, and WCs, you are totally in control and back to the fun part of choosing table decorations, flowers, and caterers. We have an extensive range of contacts and work with six leading UK wedding planners who know our venue well. They can support your planning journey to remove stress and add creativity... and that little bit of magic.

Is the venue children-friendly?

Children love the freedom of our venue, as there is so much to explore. However, please note we have several water features, including a pond and moat, so an adult must accompany children. Some couples consider booking a children's entertainer who can keep an eye on little ones and provide them with some additional entertainment to allow parents to relax.
