Tucked away in the heart of the New Forest National Park in Hampshire, Minstead Lodge Estate provides an enchanting woodland haven for a country house wedding.
This charming venue, located on the outskirts of Minstead Village, is surrounded by the natural beauty of Lyndhurst, offering couples a tranquil space for their special day. The estate, belonging to Minstead Trust, a local charity supporting over 300 people with learning difficulties, adds an extra layer of meaning to your celebration, contributing to the well-being of vulnerable individuals and fostering a sense of community.
Explore a variety of exquisite rooms with oak-panelled walls and stunning views over picturesque grounds. The Long Hall’s oak fireplace, adorned by a crackling log fire in winter, provides a warm and inviting atmosphere.
For those seeking an intimate wedding experience, the cosy and elegant rooms are perfectly suited to create cherished moments in a smaller setting.
Let romance flourish amidst the enchanting gardens. From the inviting Veranda to the serene Middle Terrace, you’ll find a selection of outdoor spaces ideal for your ceremony within the tranquil grounds.
Whether you have tied the knot at the Lodge or another venue, the celebrations continue with the wedding breakfast in one of Minstead Lodge’s glorious rooms or a marquee if chosen.
Your guests can take their seats as your chosen music plays in the background. Your chosen caterers will serve you and your guests a delicious meal, and finally, your chosen entertainment will kick off the party! You’re welcome to have the music up until 11pm, giving you plenty of time to dance the night away.
Last orders will be called at 11pm, and the evening will draw to a close at 11:30pm. Taxis can be pre-arranged with local companies to ensure guests can safely and conveniently return home at the end of the festivities.
Whilst Misntead Lodge doesn’t offer a catering service, it does have a curated list of recommended caterers or is happy to welcome your preferred caterers into its fully equipped kitchen.
Being located in the New Forest, there are plenty of B&Bs, hotels, and other accommodation options to choose from. Minstead Lodge is also linked to Furzey House (also owned by the charity Minstead Trust) and is happy to offer this as accommodation for you and your wedding party. This house sleeps up to 10 people and is a short drive from Minstead Lodge.
Minstead Lodge is easily accessible from the M27 and is 25 minutes outside Southampton.

Minstead Lodge is a beautiful venue – only a short hop from major routes, but you instantly feel like you are in the peaceful heart of the New Forest.
The Team at the Lodge created such a special, memorable day at such a difficult time. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough… we will be back.
It is an absolutely beautiful venue; we couldn’t fault it! The staff are amazing at helping your vision come together and is stunning for photos.
What a dream venue for our wedding. Having looked at over 30 venues in the area and finding all lacked facilities, were a bit more generic, or knew people who had married there, we stumbled along Minstead Lodge. The lodge itself has such charm and character I knew instantly it was the place for us.
We had exclusive use of the lodge, meaning our reception felt completely private and intimate. Along with the help of the lovely team at the lodge, we were able to completely personalise our whole day and decorate it.
We chose the bar company, caterers, the DJ, and everything. Although this requires more organisation, it made our wedding completely individual. Lois was so supportive during the planning stages that I didn’t have to worry about it all coming together. Small touches like getting access to set up the day before, setting the rooms up, and using the rooms exactly as we wanted are things you cannot get from another venue.
The look and grounds of the lodge are second to none; we had a wealth of choice for photos, and our guests couldn’t believe they had not heard of the venue when it was so beautiful.
Both Lois & Kim were such a pleasure to deal with and particularly supportive on the wedding day. We had rain, and I felt pretty anxious when I arrived at the venue; after seeing them both, I was put completely at ease and felt pure joy. I cannot thank them enough for being so attentive & helpful throughout the whole process.
Above anything else, we completely fell in love with the idea our money was going to charity to help a fantastic cause.
We are delighted to support the incredible Minstead Trust and so pleased to say our very special July wedding day was exactly as we wanted it to be and more! Made so amazing, having been looked after by the lovely team at Minstead Trust – from Church and our arrival at Minstead Lodge, fabulous bubbly on the to be met with the most gorgeous sunny grounds, then the excellent and quite delicious afternoon tea served so exquisitely in such wonderful surroundings. Thank you, everyone, for making our very special day especially perfect.
We had our wedding in November, and although it was a miserable rainy day, the lodge and the gardens looked absolutely stunning! From the moment we first booked the lodge, Lois was on hand to arrange everything, always keeping us informed of what we needed to do! I couldn’t fault her or any of the staff! The day ran very smoothly, allowing us to enjoy every moment with our friends and family. The photo opportunities are endless in every part of the lodge and the grounds.
Minstead lodge really is a hidden treasure within the New Forest. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it! I couldn’t recommend it enough!
Yes, you will have access to the Lodge the day before the big day to decorate. To avoid rushing at the end of the night, a collection of decorations can be made at a future date after the event.
Unfortunately, we don't. However, there are plenty of B&Bs and hotels around Lyndhurst. We can also recommend the Furzey House holiday cottage located at Furzey Gardens in Minstead, part of Minstead Trust. This sleeps up to 10 people and is only a short drive from the Lodge.
