The Old Hall Ely

My Husband and I got married here last month and we cannot recommend the staff and venue enough. From the very first meeting, to the running of the day, everything was perfect. We were lucky enough to get married in the Pavilion outside due to the fantastic weather. The staff were exceptional throughout and went above and beyond to deliver a fantastic service. Our special day ran smoothly because of the attentive staff. The food was also delicious! Many of our guests commented on how fantastic the food and service was. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which is a fantastic room. From the huge four-poster bed to the roll-top bath over-looking the gardens – we were spoilt. Thank you to the staff who helped make our day so memorable. We highly recommend The Old Hall as a wedding venue to future couples.

My husband and I had our wedding at The Old Hall. From the beginning to the end of the process, the staff could not have been helpful enough, they all truly went above and beyond. On the day, we had many guests mention the seamless, professional organisation that they gave. Amy our event manager was just fantastic and you can see the passion she has for her job. The rooms were fantastic. The day was amazing. I cannot thank everyone enough for their work towards the best day of our lives.

Thank you for making our dreams come true with our wedding on the 29.5.22. All the staff and team were outstanding and nothing was too much for anyone! I would like to personally thank Amy for helping me multiple times with my dress, I really appreciate it. Just thank you to everyone for making it special. We had the most amazing wedding and wish we could do it all over again. Mrs Morbey, thank you for allowing your home to become one of the most incredible wedding venues in the country. It’s so welcoming with such a family presence which is one of the reasons we chose it. All your staff are an absolute credit to the venue and we really thank you and everyone at The Old Hall.

Thank you for making our wedding day so amazing! All the planning and suggestions you made were great, we loved the taster event to see the venue in action, and the day was even better than we had imagined. All of our guests thought that the attention to detail and service was outstanding! It’s hard to put into words just how lovely everything was!

Your professionalism, dedication, patience and care shone through from beginning to end. The Old Hall is such a beautiful venue, the food was delicious and so beautifully presented, and as for the bedrooms and bathrooms – it’s hard to express how incredible they are. Thank you for everything.

1st September 2023 was truly the best day of our lives, and what a stunning wedding venue The Old Hall is. Our wedding was like something from a fairytale, everything we could have dreamed of. The staff were sensational from the get-go, so organised and could not do enough for you. The service on the day was amazing, and so many guests complimented the venue and staff. Although it rained and we planned to get married outside, the quick switch around to the orangery was seamless, and it was still just as stunning. We will be forever grateful for a truly stunning wedding, and we can’t wait to visit again in the future.

Where do we start? You all made our wedding day the most wonderful day we could have imagined! From the planning help, the set up and the amazing smiling team on the day. All of our guests commented on how friendly professional and kind hearted you all were. You can tell you have a great passion for what you do and you brought that to our wedding day. We cannot thank you enough.

I grew up in Ely and remember when The Old Hall started being renovated. I would always say to my Mum, ‘Wow, I wonder who lives there?’. Since then, I always dreamed of getting married at the Old Hall.

We came for a private tour and instantly fell in love. It was everything we had imagined, and no other venue we looked at even came close.

From start to finish, the staff at the Old Hall were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, and they had thought of things we had overlooked. The planning process was so easy, and our questions were answered so quickly.

The day itself was a fairytale. When we arrived, everything was done! There was nothing for me to have to think or worry about. The staff allowed me to enjoy the morning of my wedding with my beautiful bridal party. The whole day was a military operation without anyone knowing. The staff made everyone feel relaxed whilst still making sure everyone was on time. The food was sensational, and the staff were so attentive. All of our guests commented on how spectacular the venue was, most saying they had never been to a wedding like it.

The staff at the Old Hall made our day perfect, and we will never be able to thank them enough!

I literally had a fairy-tale wedding here at the Old Hall Ely. The venue/house is gorgeous, the views are stunning, the staff are incredible, and everything is just perfect. I got married outside in the garden pavilion, enjoyed some drinks and canapés on the terrace outside, had a delicious dinner in a beautiful dining room, and then enjoyed an intimate time with family cozied up by not one but two majestic fireplaces. My family loved their room/view when they stayed overnight – it was so nice that people could enjoy the wedding and just go upstairs to bed when they were tired. The wedding coordinator was so friendly and helpful, the staff serving drinks/canapés/dinner were very sweet, and the bartender was hilarious and entertained one of our very energetic/crazy nieces. There were two people who looked after us as well, they were really great at organising everything and taking care of us. I could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding – there was not one hiccup the entire day, it was pure perfection.

I just wanted to send a message to say a massive thank you for everything. We both had the most magical day and couldn’t be more grateful for the efforts of you and your wonderful team. Every single staff member we both encountered was absolutely fantastic, so friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. There really isn’t anything negative I could say about the service we received and the experience we had. I had staff offering to carry things for me, opening doors for me, giving words of support, and even running to get me a glass of water 2 seconds before I walked down the aisle. We are so grateful.

To the team at The Old Hall, just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for such a fabulous day. From the word go you were so organised and it was such a stress free experience. We thought the wedding day went perfectly. The service/organisation and feed was spectacular. So many people have commented on how tasty the food was, and how beautiful the venue was and we thought so too. It was just such a perfect day so thank you for making it happen – we will never forget it!

From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU for making our day everything we had ever wished for. You have all been amazing right from when we booked two years ago to now, we appreciate everyone’s efforts so much – the people we had the pleasure of meeting and those behind the scenes! We truly had the best day ever and all our guests have said how fab it was too! The only bad part was that it had to end! We really are in an Old Hall bubble – we cannot decide what was our favourite part – we enjoyed EVERYTHING. We will continue our love for your beautiful place and keep coming whenever we can , your food is delicious and fast becoming our favourite place to eat! Once again thank you all so so much – you are ALL AMAZING!!

We can never thank you enough for enabling us to have the perfect wedding. The planning beforehand, and including that on the day was exemplary and all our little requests were dealt with without fuss. On the actual day the attention of the team was second to none – nothing was too much trouble. Many people have told us it was the best wedding that they had ever been to – many compliments for the building and location, but many more for the service given in the marquee – the precision of the staff in particular. I know everyone who stayed at The Old Hall thought it wonderful and the rooms were the best many had stayed in. We thank you so much and send you every good wish for continued success at The Old Hall.

We got married here in early December, and whilst “perfect” seems like a strong word, it is definitely the right one.

I struggle with anxiety and am definitely a control freak, and I threw every question and possible scenario at Kirsty (an absolute gem among gems) during the planning phase, and for every single one, she had a well-prepared answer. The planning that went into our day was unmatched.

Then it’s the big day. I wasn’t feeling great in the morning (a mix of nerves and just general sickness). Michelle (how utterly fantastic she was) noticed I wasn’t at breakfast, so appeared in the bridal suite with pastries. There is literally nothing that is too much trouble, and they go completely above and beyond in every aspect.

Whilst Michelle was keeping me sane (and fed!) in the morning Jasmine was downstairs running around setting everything up behind the scenes. She was a core part of ensuring our day ran as smoothly as it did and making sure everything was on time and set up correctly.

We had so many compliments on the organisation of the day and how smoothly everything ran. But the big showstopper? The food. Oh my goodness, the food. Even if you don’t get the chance to get married or attend a wedding here, you are in luck. They do dining evenings and weekends, too. I would recommend these to everyone just to try their incredible food. We’ve definitely got our eye on a few events throughout the year, and we will definitely be back for a festive Christmas lunch on our anniversary. So many people were raving about the food all night, definitely a highlight.

Finally, to Amanda, who was an absolute diamond in the evening, she ensured everything ran almost effortlessly and was checking in on me throughout the night.

Thank you isn’t and will never be enough for Kirsty, Michelle, Amanda, Jasmine and the entire Old Hall Team working tirelessly behind the scenes.

I’m so excited that the Old Hall is a hotel and restaurant as well; gives us every reason to go back, and we definitely will!
