Setting
Holesfoot offers a blissfully secluded atmosphere filled with luxuries that make it feel like a home away from home. Wild and whimsical beauty surrounds every corner of the estate, providing countless options for stunning photo opportunities and setups.
The venue has 20 acres of private grounds, featuring formal and informal gardens, a lake, woodland, and picturesque meadows. It’s in the magnificent Eden Valley countryside, between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
Ceremony
The Italian Garden Terrace is a popular choice for ceremonies, offering a stunning, romantic atmosphere. Guests can walk through arches of roses, sweet peas, and honeysuckle along an aisle bordered by water lilies and enjoy the enchanting views of wisteria creeping up walls.
For winter weddings, The Barn provides an equally magical setting. On rainy days, couples can say their vows under the canopy of The Walled Garden, with the soothing sound of raindrops above.
Reception
Holesfoot offers various reception options, whether it’s enjoying drinks, music, and canapés on the front lawn overlooking the pond or in the charming walled garden. If the weather isn’t ideal, the beautifully renovated Grade II* listed manor house provides a warm and elegant setting, with cosy undercroft areas and a welcoming bar.
There’s plenty of space for outdoor activities like garden games, rounders, archery, and even axe-throwing, as well as unique photo opportunities around the pond or in a quaint rowing boat.
There are also multiple ways to enjoy your wedding preparations the day before at Holesfoot, from mobile spa treatments in the bridal suite to Prosecco in the hot tub with friends. Whether hosting a poker night or a fine dining dinner party, Holesfoot provides flexibility for any pre-wedding activities.
Accommodation
The venue provides on-site accommodation for up to 60 guests, including the spectacular Manor House, the cosy Bakehouse, the Coach House, the Cottage, and Glamping options. All have been newly renovated to the highest standards, ensuring an unforgettable stay for every guest at Holesfoot.
