Ormesby Manor offers exclusive use of a private estate for three days and two nights, allowing weddings to unfold at an unhurried pace. Set within 12 acres of private parkland in the Norfolk Broads National Park, the house and grounds feel expansive yet personal, with space to gather, celebrate and retreat. The neighbouring Ormesby St Michael parish church sits beside the estate, creating a natural connection between ceremony and celebration.
The focus here is outdoor living, with lawns, waterways and open skies shaping the feel of the weekend. Whether hosting a marquee celebration or a more intimate indoor gathering, the setting gives couples freedom to shape the estate around their plans, rather than the other way round.
Civil ceremonies can be held both indoors and outdoors, offering flexibility in scale and setting. Licensed spaces inside the Manor include the Garden Room and the Grand Parlour, each accommodating up to 60 guests. For larger gatherings, ceremonies can take place on the lawns or beside the waterway, hosting up to 200 guests in the open air.
Outdoor options range from intimate Duo Ceremonies on the lawns or under the Ceremony Canopy, to larger gatherings shaped around the estate’s grounds. Couples can choose a setting that reflects the size and tone of their day, with the reassurance of experienced coordination throughout.
Receptions at Ormesby Manor are shaped around choice and scale. Couples may host a relaxed celebration with drinks and canapés, or plan a larger occasion with live bands and formal dining. The lawns provide space for bespoke marquee celebrations, while the Garden Room and Grand Parlour suit indoor wedding breakfasts and evening gatherings.
Across the weekend, the estate remains exclusively yours, allowing celebrations to move naturally from daytime drinks to evening festivities. Botanical and marquee bars are available throughout the event, including late-night service, with views across the south lawns from the terrace.
On-site accommodation allows guests to stay close throughout the celebration. The estate includes the Manor House, Well Lodge and three luxury shepherd’s huts set within Ormesby’s meadow, providing boutique accommodation for up to 26 adults. A dedicated honeymoon suite is reserved for the couple.
Stays include continental breakfast for resident guests across two mornings, along with luxury toiletries, bathrobes, linens and towels. Each room is prepared with hot and cold drink trays, supporting a relaxed start to each day of the celebration.
Food and drink are overseen by Ormesby Manor’s events team, working closely with award-winning caterers and trusted suppliers. Menus are tailored to each celebration, whether the day calls for relaxed sharing plates or a formal banquet.
Couples are welcome to use the venue’s recommended suppliers or bring their own. Throughout the weekend, the botanical and marquee bars remain fully staffed and stocked, serving arrival drinks on the terrace and continuing into the evening under a late licence.
The estate sits within easy reach of Norfolk’s coastline, with beaches nearby for pre- or post-wedding exploration. Norwich is close enough for guests wishing to extend their stay, offering historic streets, cultural attractions and further accommodation options. The wider area is ideal for weekend-long celebrations, with plenty to enjoy beyond the wedding day itself.
Ormesby Manor is located around 30 minutes from Norwich, which offers both a railway station and an airport. Direct train services place the venue within two hours of London, making it accessible for guests travelling from across the UK.
The minimum hire is two nights and three days (suppliers may have access before that for setting up the marquee). However, it's perfectly possible to book extra nights if you wish.
Absolutely, we do have a curfew at midnight on music played outside.
Pets are not allowed into the Manor House or any of its associated accommodation, but they are very welcome to join you outside for photos. We can recommend a wonderful pet-sitting service that can look after your pet locally, bathe them, and bring them out to enjoy some outdoor photos with you before taking them home.
Yes. Although the Parlour room is licensed for 60 guests, you can take the celebrations outside and create a ceremony area for up to 200 guests using the lawns or alongside the waterway. If you wish to weatherproof your outdoor ceremony, you may consider a temporary structure such as a marquee, tipi, or sailcloth, which could be repurposed for the reception.
Duo ceremonies such as this would require the registrar to take the couple inside the Garden Room to sign the legal documents.
Yes, we have an extensive list of trusted suppliers we are happy to share with you. However, you are welcome to source your own. We provide all staying house guests with Ormesby Manor Signature Continental Breakfast on both mornings.
