Setting
Bruisyard Country Estate stands as an enchanting venue for a three-day wedding celebration. The country house, with its elegant façade, resides at the heart of 700 acres of informal and varied grounds. Dating back over 700 years, the estate incorporates the remnants of a fourteenth-century nunnery, while the main house boasts early 17th-century architecture. This beautiful residence features three storeys, including converted attics with charming accommodations. The Barn is a picturesque multi-use event space showcasing a beamed dining hall and a separate galleried medieval hall; all flooded with natural light.
Ceremony
The Barn is stylish at any time, but when it’s decked out in wedding regalia, it becomes breathtaking. It is somewhere that genuinely has the WOW factor and will be the ideal backdrop to the happiest moment of your life. Picture yourself exchanging your vows beneath the ancient timbers, bathed in ambient light, with all your loved ones looking on. Hundreds of happy couples have begun their married lives together in this place – and now it’s your turn.
Reception
After the ceremony, the Barn seamlessly transitions into an exquisite reception space. Tables are beautifully dressed in coordination with your wedding planners, ensuring a stunning reveal for your guests.
Attentive waiting staff will serve you and your guests a delightful wedding breakfast crafted by their expert chefs. Whether you prefer a formal sit-down feast or a more relaxed dining experience, their team will work with you to create a menu that reflects your tastes and preferences. When it’s time for the speeches, state-of-the-art audio equipment will ensure everyone can hear what’s going on, no matter where they’re sat – they even have a roving mic available if you want to get in and amongst your guests!
Accommodation
Fifteen luxurious bedrooms across the Halland Byre invite guests to indulge in comfort and charm. With features like four-poster beds and chandeliers, each room provides a unique experience, echoing the warmth of a true family home. The recently renovated Byre offers a private courtyard, perfect for hosting welcome drinks or informal dining.
Food & Drink
The skilled kitchen team, led by their expert Head Chef, is dedicated to creating meals that complement your wedding and make your time at Bruisyard Hall even more enjoyable. The night you arrive, you can enjoy a casual dinner prepared by their chefs while you spend time exploring the estate and getting to know each other. The food for the main event will have been planned in close collaboration with you, so whether you fancy something traditional, a menu with an international twist, or even food straight from the BBQ, they will make it happen.
The morning after the celebration, indulge in a relaxed breakfast or a grazing brunch, either in the Hall’s grand dining room or al fresco in the Byre courtyard during the summer months, surrounded by the beautiful Suffolk countryside.
Sustainability
As custodians of 700 acres of Suffolk countryside at Bruisyard Country Estate and more through their other business interests, the team is committed to sustainability and takes their responsibilities to the land seriously. Sustainability is woven into every aspect of their operations, from the farm to the table, ensuring a greener future for generations to come.
They generate much of their energy through renewable methods, including biomass and solar panels, reducing their carbon footprint. For many years, Bruisyard has had charging points for electric vehicles available.
The chefs include as much local and seasonal produce as possible in their menus, much of it from their own farm, such as wild garlic from the woodlands, grass-fed Red Poll beef, and venison from wild deer. This reduces food miles to food metres and has the added benefit of tasting amazing!
Then, all food waste from weddings and other events is turned into compost for the fields, ensuring nothing is wasted.
