Tythe offers an enchanting blend of historic charm and rural elegance, set on a working farm owned by the Deeley family in the heart of Oxfordshire. The venue brings together the beautifully restored Thatched Barn (dating back to 1370), the adjoining Cowshed with its old terracotta roof, the luxury dressing room (The Nook), the stunning interior-designed Manor Farmhouse offering seven double en-suite bedrooms, and the cosy Shepherd’s Hut, which sleeps an additional two. The Lodge, occupying a prime position opposite The Thatched Barn and perfect for the groom and his team to welcome arriving guests, offers beautifully curated interiors, a bespoke sauna cabin, and an outdoor wild shower. The sweeping drive, rustic oak beams, and the peaceful countryside make Tythe a quintessentially English setting, offering a magical backdrop for weddings. The estate’s natural beauty is complemented by touches of farm life, with grazing sheep and cows nearby, adding to its character.

The venue is available for exclusive hire, and a dedicated team ensures that every detail is thoughtfully managed, creating a seamless experience for couples and their guests.
Tythe offers a variety of charming spaces for couples to exchange their vows. Couples can choose between indoor or outdoor settings, including the Thatched Barn, the wisteria-lined aisle, The Farmhouse Gardens or the stunning silver birch canopy in The Orchard.
For those preferring a more traditional service, the 12th-century St Mary’s Church, located just next door, is accessible via a picturesque garden path.
Whether inside the historic barn or under the open sky, Tythe provides a beautiful, flexible setting for both small and large ceremonies.
The Thatched Barn is the perfect venue for a wedding breakfast, combining historical charm with modern style. This 14th-century barn, once a central part of the family farm, has been carefully restored while retaining its original character. Inside, rustic oak beams are complemented by fairy lights, and outside, the warmth of a wood burner keeps guests cosy. Friends and family can gather around long tables for a lively, communal feast, with the option of wood-fired pizza from the outdoor oven and evening celebrations illuminated by festoon lighting.
Tythe offers couples and their guests the impressive 17th-century Farmhouse as accommodation. This Manor House has been the family home of the Deeley family for over 500 years and sits at the hub of the Tythe estate. Boasting seven double ensuite bedrooms, including a wedding suite, two large reception rooms, a dining room, a country kitchen, open fires, a tennis court, a wonderful wood-fuelled hot tub and an adjacent Shepherd’s Hut (with room for two more), there’s plenty to keep the couple and their guests entertained!
Tythe’s in-house catering team, Absolute Taste, delivers a wedding feast full of flavour, showcasing fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced locally. Guests can indulge in beautifully crafted menus ranging from elegant sit-down meals to more relaxed, informal options, like the popular “self-carve”! Tythe encourages couples to work with their talented chefs to create a bespoke menu that reflects their personal tastes, ensuring each bite delights the senses.
Tythe are very aware of their responsibility towards the environment and have implemented several measures to reduce their carbon footprint and give back to the local community that they’re so much a part of. As a family-run business based on their working farm, they operate as sustainably as possible.
Their biomass boiler runs on wood pellets, creating enough energy to heat the entire venue, whilst solar panels on the roof of the grain store produce enough power to light Tythe’s estate. They have a water purification system that serves still and sparkling water to guests in reusable glass bottles, and they harvest rainwater for their plants and recycle all cardboard and wine corks.
Over the last ten years, Tythe have planted over 1000 trees across the estate, created a kitchen herb garden to grow mint for their Pimm’s receptions, and the apples from the orchard are the key ingredient in their Apple Sour cocktail!
