Based on a weekday wedding in February.
Setting
Leez Priory is a magnificent Tudor mansion nestled in the heart of the Essex countryside in 40 acres of parkland featuring lakes, lawns, and a sweeping driveway.
Ceremony
Leez Priory offers a choice of seven licensed ceremony settings, allowing for a personalized wedding day. The historic Great Tower, adjacent to the main house, provides an intimate setting indoors or an imposing backdrop for an outdoor ceremony on sunny days. Within the main house, the Great Hall, full of character and charm, or the house itself, could be the setting for the ceremony.
Reception
The spectacular Great Hall can seat up to 86 guests for the wedding breakfast, while the newly converted Coach House can accommodate larger parties of up to 100 guests. The entire house and grounds are available exclusively, allowing up to 250 guests for the evening wedding reception and party.
Accommodation
There are 25 beautiful bedrooms available for the wedding night, providing a perfect end to the day at Leez Priory. The Fisherman’s Cottage, overlooking the lake, is available for the bride and bridesmaids to stay the night before the wedding, allowing them to wake up refreshed and ready for the special day.
Getting There
Despite its idyllic village location in the heart of the Essex countryside, the venue is only 20 minutes from Stansted Airport and 15 minutes from Chelmsford and the M11 to London, making it easily accessible by road, air, and rail.
Leez Priory is a Grade I listed building, so there are some access limitations. Ramps are provided for all ground-floor rooms, and the main building has a disabled-friendly toilet. Additionally, there is a disabled-friendly bedroom with a wet room in the courtyard rooms. However, due to the building’s historic nature, there are no lifts to the first-floor areas, including the Great Hall and the Tower.
