The Cherry Barn sits on a 400-acre working farm within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has a backdrop of orchards and farmland, offering wide views across the countryside. The venue feels rural and peaceful but remains practical, being only a seven-minute drive from Rye and within easy reach of London.
There are three spaces licensed for ceremonies. Couples can marry beneath the 17th-century oak frames inside the barn, under the lean-to with open countryside views, or outdoors beneath the oak-framed gazebo looking out towards the North Downs. There’s also the option to hold the ceremony in the meadow, surrounded by oak trees and long grass. For those preferring a church service, the Norman church of St Peter and St Paul in Peasmarsh is just a short walk away.
The Cherry Barn offers exclusive hire for 48 hours, giving plenty of time to set up and celebrate without feeling rushed. The space can seat up to 200 guests, though it also works well for smaller, more intimate weddings. There’s no corkage fee for drinks served during the reception or wedding breakfast, and a fully stocked bar opens afterwards. Couples can also choose to supply their own evening drinks for a corkage fee.
The venue works closely with an experienced network of suppliers to help plan every detail, from catering and décor to entertainment and photography. Exclusive use means you have complete freedom to design the day around your own style.
On-site options include a large, fully equipped loft and a two-bedroom cottage, both available to hire. Glamping is also allowed. In Peasmarsh village, there’s a hotel with 44 rooms as well as several B&Bs, vineyards and Airbnbs. Rye is just a five-minute drive away, giving guests plenty of nearby places to stay.
The Cherry Barn works with 10 different caterers, offering bespoke menus, whether you want a formal three-course meal, a relaxed barbecue, or sharing platters. External caterers are welcome, subject to an additional kitchen fee, provided they’re professional and fully insured. There’s no corkage fee during the day, and a paid bar operates in the evening, with the option to bring your own alcohol if preferred.
As part of a working farm, sustainability plays a key role at The Cherry Barn. The venue sits within a protected landscape, and areas such as the meadow field are carefully managed to preserve the local environment.
Peasmarsh is a charming village with a pub, a nearby winery and plenty of local accommodation. The medieval town of Rye is close by, and Camber Sands, with its wide sandy beach, is around ten minutes by car.
The venue is less than a two-hour drive from central London and easily reached from across the South East. Rye Station is ten minutes away by taxi, with direct connections to London via Ashford International or coastal routes through Eastbourne. Gatwick Airport is about an hour and twenty minutes by car.

This is a beautiful wedding venue with stunning views.
We got married here in August and I may be slightly biased, but this place was incredible. Our guests thought it was an outstanding venue, just as much as we did! Mel and Steve are amazing and very accommodating! We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to be one of the first couples to get married here! I’m sure the first of many couples to follow in our footsteps!
We wanted to say a big thank you for being so accommodating and helpful in both the run-up to + on the wedding day itself! We absolutely loved The Cherry Barn from the moment we stepped inside + were so happy to be able to have our wedding reception there. All the attention to detail that you have included in setting up the venue makes it super special. Our guests loved it and we had the best day ever! We wish we could do it all again.
