Grittleton House

We had our fabulous wedding here on Friday and it was THE most magical day ever. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Emma was fantastic throughout the whole planning process. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always on hand to answer any questions which made it a very relaxed experience as I knew everything would go to plan in her capable hands. The food was absolutely incredible and the personalized cocktails went down a storm along with the Marshfield ice cream treat at the drinks reception. The venue is an absolute gem and we will never get over just how incredible it is. We would like to say a huge thank you to Emma, Nelson, Matt, Vanessa and all the staff for being so amazing and making our retro wedding the best day of our lives.

We celebrated our friends wedding at this wonderful venue on 22nd September, the house was beautiful and the whole day was perfection. The staff were very helpful, even offering to take a guest to her hotel when her taxi was late! I can certainly recommend the Gin Club which we certainly made use of! We also stayed for 2 nights in the Stables accommodation which was comfortable with a much needed delicious breakfast in the morning. Anyone looking for a stunning, picturesque location for their wedding please take a look, probably one of the nicest venues we’ve had the pleasure of attending. We have enjoyed a week of reflecting on the wonderful time we all had at Nick & Jenna’s wedding last weekend.

The venue looked beautiful, the bedrooms were stunning and comfortable, the food was simply delicious, and the service was excellent. We were particularly impressed with the service staff, who were numerous, pleasant, and very well-managed. Thank you so much for all your help in making the day run smoothly. Your input on the wedding day itself and in the months leading up to it has been invaluable. We have all appreciated your help, support, and advice.

Emma, Vanessa and the team at Grittleton House were exceptional at bringing our wedding day to life. The venue is just spectacular! The house and grounds provide plenty of photo opportunities, leaving you with loads of wonderful photos to look back on. There are plenty of big, spacious rooms on site for guests to stay. We visited at different seasons ahead of our big day, and we truly feel like this is a venue fit for all occasions throughout the year. The catering team did a fantastic job with the food and catering for allergies, with excellent-sized portions. The team really did take away the stress of wedding planning – they were happy to answer any queries, excellent at communicating each step leading up to the wedding and made sure the day ran smoothly and efficiently without anything feeling rushed through. We couldn’t recommend Grittleton highly enough! Thank you all for your part in making our Wedding day so special!

Grittleton House provides the most fantastic location for your wedding. We had the most magical day, and our guests were blown away by the house and gardens.

The team at Grittleton, headed by Emma and Nelson, are superb. Nothing is too much trouble, and they go out of their way to make your wedding perfect. Nelson even remembered my favourite tipple and ensured that it was in the dressing room for me on the morning of my wedding. Emma is super organised, ensuring that everything is under control for your big day. She also made sure we ate and drank, and had some time before greeting guests!

The food is delicious—there are no small portions here! The grounds are simply stunning, providing the most beautiful backdrop for your photos and allowing adults to enjoy them and children to run around. The house bedrooms are incredible—they are absolutely huge—and my only regret is not having more time to enjoy our room. Grittleton offers extra accommodation at the Stables, which means that your guests can all stay and enjoy breakfast with you the next day. You realise at the end of your wedding day that you have not spoken to so many of your guests, so being able to sit and chat with them over breakfast and say goodbye to your friends and family is a lovely ending to your wedding.

We chose Grittleton for many reasons. We live very close by, so it’s perfect for us to drive past and remember our day, but definitely, one of the key reasons was the incredible architecture of the house. The team at Grittleton ensures that the house feels like your home for your wedding. I felt so relaxed and happy at Grittleton that I didn’t have a single nerve all day! You have to see this place and meet the team to appreciate just what a fantastic job they do – they 150% hit the brief for us. I want to do it all again…..!!

We have been able to organise the wedding of our dreams in Grittleton House. The house and grounds are magnificent and will definitely not disappoint any guest. The service offered by the entire team was amazing and our order of the day, the bar, the food and the music were all customised to our taste! We were fortunate to be able to offer on site accommodation and breakfast the following morning to all of our guests. The communications with the team up to the big day and during our wedding were excellent. We would recommend Grittleton House and the entire team to anyone who wishes their wedding to be absolutely beautiful!

Firstly would like to thank Emma, the Shipp family and staff for an amazing day. From the moment you walk through the door you are met with a warm welcome and a stunning house. Everything that is supposed to be stressful about organising a wedding was made easy so when it came to the day it was lovely. We were able to have the wedding ceremony at the venue which was wonderful and makes it easy for guests as there was no traveling involved. The wedding breakfast was absolutely amazing. The venue itself is so nicely decorated that we felt we didn’t need to do a lot ourselves and as the wedding was near Christmas we were fortunate enough to have Christmas decorations as well which are very tastefully done. We stayed the night of our wedding at the Stables which is a short walk across the grounds to where the Rooms are situated. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable and the breakfast the next day was lovely. All of our guests commented to us about how lovely the venue was. Would recommend to anybody.

I can’t find the right words to explain how perfect Grittleton house has been. The venue alone is absolutely spectacular, we have had so many guests comment on what a beautiful place it is. The different rooms provide so much functionality and really gives a homely feel to the day as it’s all under one roof. Our grandparents loved being able to sit in the library and chat away peacefully whilst the party was taking place in another room. As a food lover we can also say that the food was brilliant. We have since had so many people comment on how tasty it was and how the service was so seamless. The timings were spot on. Emma, Vanessa, Nelson and the rest of the Grittleton team were amazing from the moment we booked our wedding to the actual day. They made sure everything went smoothly and there really is not one thing that could be faulted, thank you!

On top of this, the food is absolutely delicious, the drinks are stocked in abundance (we had personalised cocktails) and the staff could not be more helpful. Emma, Vanessa and Nelson went out of their way to make our wedding the most perfect day – which it was! Nothing was too much trouble and they truly made us feel special from the moment we met them. We will be forever grateful to the whole team at Grittleton House for giving us a day we truly will never forget – we cannot recommend Grittleton House highly enough as a wedding venue.

If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue, then Grittleton House is the place for you. From start to finish, Emma and the team made the whole process so very easy. The house is incredibly beautiful, making for a perfect backdrop for a magical ceremony. The bedrooms in the house are amazing, and the bridal dressing room is something to behold (think Bridgerton). The food is incredible. Our guests continuously complimented the food all day. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone. It was the perfect day for us.

What can we say about Grittleton House…phenomenal! We got married almost two weeks ago, and we have been wishing to do it all over again ever since. We can’t praise Emma, Vanessa, Ben and the rest of the team enough, they made our day incredible from start to finish. Anything we needed, they were on it. From setting everything up, checking our guests in, making sure we always had a drink in our hand, to telling me to think about boring shopping lists to calm my nerves as I walked to the ceremony! The planning process wouldn’t have been the same without Emma, no question was silly or too much trouble, she couldn’t have done anything more for us. The house and grounds itself are just absolutely stunning, we have had no end of comments from our guests about how beautiful everything was. The food and drinks were outstanding, the coordination, the service, the gorgeous rooms, the list goes on and on. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Grittleton House is a magical place! We got married here in October and everything was perfect. It was the first venue we visited as part of our wedding research and we knew immediately that it was the one. Our guests were bowled over by the house and its many beautiful rooms, which the team cleverly revealed at various points throughout the day. We had so many people comment on how much they loved the venue, asking how we found it and suggesting it was among the best wedding venues they had ever been to. One guest remarked, “Move over Downton Abbey!” The food was also excellent and plentiful – genuinely the biggest portion sizes we’ve ever seen! Having the option to stay on site in both the main house and converted stables meant we were able to provide accommodation for around 60 guests overnight. Emma, Nelson, Vanessa and the rest of the team were fantastic from start to finish, ensuring we felt well looked after from the very first visit to the day after the wedding. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone in search of a traditional country manor with the extra wow factor. Thank you so much for helping to bring our dream wedding to life.

Our son and daughter-in-law got married at the stunning Grittleton House last week. We couldn’t fault anything, and the day was truly magical. The staff were amazing and worked so hard to make the day perfect. The house looked beautiful, and having the quaint church next to it was such an added bonus. As a family, we had the most wonderful day, and those memories we will cherish forever. Thank you, Grittleton!

Thank you to the entire team at Grittleton House. We had an amazing day, we’ll treasure it forever! The food was impeccable, the venue is so unique and stunning, great service. The accommodation is ideal and well worth it, and we loved our breakfast in the Stables! I couldn’t recommend this wedding venue more. We could not recommend Grittleton House more highly as a wedding venue. The house itself is just breathtaking and from start to finish the staff were a delight to deal with. The packages are excellent value for money, and having their simply brilliant coordinator Emma by my side during the planning process and the day itself definitely took away a huge amount of the stress and pressure that I had expected to feel. She was extremely efficient throughout (even when on annual leave) and went above and beyond to answer every little question I had. No other venue we saw compared, and our day was perfect.
