Notes from the Bride
We chose our amazing venue, Manor By The Lake for our spring wedding. It’s a stunning venue at both day and night, and combines the perfect mixture of traditional and modern elements for a wedding! The Honeymoon Suite is also absolutely beautiful, as were all the guests rooms.
I bought my dress at Wedding Belles of Four Oaks in Sutton Coldfield. After creating a wedding board on Pinterest almost all the pins I saved were by the same designer – Maggie Sottero. I chose the Stella dress, with lace detail, Swarovski crystals, and the sweetheart neckline was so flattering along with the corset waist!
My seamstress created a beautiful one off strap and back piece for me that I could attach and remove with lace that was ordered, and she painstakingly attached the Swarovski crystals by hand. It finished the dress of perfectly!
I also purchased a veil from Wedding Belles so they could match the colour of the dress. For the evening I had my florist choose some dusky pink roses to replace my veil. My shoes were nude court shoes from Kurt Geiger, I wanted plain and simple as my nude lace dress was the main feature.
The bridesmaids wore beautiful lace knee-length dresses with scalloped neckline and capped sleeves in dusty pink. These were from Chi Chi London though I ordered from ASOS. I knew sparkly shoes would look amazing. Kurt Geiger was my lifesaver.
Our hair was styled by Holly Bennett from Fallen Saint Hair, which is actually owned by myself and a friend. This is the reason I was lucky enough to have unlimited amounts of trials for me and the bridesmaids! She was perfect and professional but helped as she’s a good friend of mine and being a guest at the wedding meant she kept an eye on our hair till the very end!

We have another beautiful fusion wedding to share with you from the incomparable Poundon House. Zaraf & Fatima had a Civil ceremony at this Oxfordshire wedding venue but chose to embrace both the East & West in their truly bespoke celebrations.
Once again the fashion is to-die-for (the bride made her own dress people!) and the colours are utterly delicious.

Notes from the Bride
Zaraf proposed to me by sneaking a ring into a box of Charbonnel et Walker chocolates on my birthday. Total surprise and a sweet touch because he used to buy those for me when we first got together. Apparently he had been planning it for a while – he found an ethical jeweller (as he knows that is important to me) and designed the ring himself! I’m not a fan of traditional engagement rings so the stone was a beautiful star sapphire, surrounded by small diamonds. I hadn’t, and still haven’t, seen a ring quite like it. The very same chocolate box was used to carry our rings on the wedding day!
We wanted a really fun wedding with everyone we really love. Family had travelled from all over the world – America, Canada, Pakistan, Bangladesh – so we just wanted them all to let their hair down and enjoy themselves. At the same time, we wanted it to be true to us and to the things we really like. Poundon House was the perfect venue choice because it’s absolutely stunning, but a home away from home. They’re so willing to help you plan a wedding tailored to you – with your own caterers and your vision. Just a joy to work with. Poundon House has a beautiful marquee, but you’re free to style it as you want.

The last two weeks I’ve been surrounded by the most glorious and unexpected Spring flowers on not one, but two styled shoot editorials! And yes folks, we’re also right on the cusp of peony season. So this surprising blast of autumnal gorgeousness has me craving crackling fires, cosy blankets and a marshmallow or two.
Ross & Lynsey chose The Byre at Inchyra for their wedding celebrations; hidden in the heart of Perthshire, Inchyra is more than a relaxed wedding barn venue, because you can make their 150-acre private estate your own.

This is the story of Lynsey & Ross’s wedding day.
There was so much hustle and bustle in the morning, with all the girls getting ready at the beautiful Inchyra House. I truly madly deeply LOVED Lynsey’s dress, and oh, that autumnal flower crown by Myrtle & Bracken… I adored it.
The amount of thought and time that Lynsey & Ross had put into their wedding day was evident too – all the wee pumpkins and little apples strung up along the backs of their guests chairs were such a delightful detail.

Sussex-based wedding venue, Southend Barns is a pretty special place and this year marks it’s five year anniversary! In that time, 50,000 guests have raised their glasses, 25,000 bottles of Champagne have been enjoyed and 40,000 corks have been popped! Their couples mean the world to them, which is why they’ve all been invited back to attend their upcoming summer party celebration. If you fall a little bit in love with the spaces below, then you can visit Southend Barns too on Sunday 7th May from 12pm – 4pm.
Entry to the event is free and it is the ideal opportunity to meet with local suppliers and have a peek at the 200-year-old Threshing Barn, the elegant Dairy Barn with its sweeping 22 metre aisle and the luxurious Milking Parlour, which is now a stylish bridal suite.

Notes from the Bride & Groom
We knew we wanted to get married on November 1st as this is our anniversary and we couldn’t think of a more romantic day for our wedding. It was important to embrace the season and we wanted a venue to compliment the natural beauty of Autumn. Southend Barns was perfect – beautiful and rustic, and allowed us to add personal touches that made it our own. Being half Danish, there is a term we love called ‘hygge’ which can be described as a sense of ‘cosiness’ – Southend Barns has that as its essence – the natural barns, the cosy undercover fire pits, and a relaxed feel.
I’m not particularly the ‘Bridal’ type, and although I’m girly, the thought of wedding dress shopping was really stressful. When it came to my outfit, I knew I wanted something I could wear again. I decided on a top and a skirt so that I would be able to mix and match them in the future and then, on the special occasions that I wear them, I will be reminded of our big day. E&W Couture is a beautiful little boutique in Cardiff, so personal and fun, with that touch of ‘alternative’ I was looking for. Once I had the skirt, I found a corset and lace overlay from high street shops. Robert and I both decided on our shoes being our ‘something blue’, mine from Dune with a matching purse, and Robert’s from M&S.
We did the venue flowers ourselves, but decided on professional flowers for the bouquets and buttonholes. I used a local florist, Catkin & Pussywillow, who have such a creative flare mixed with a wild rustic beauty. I discussed with them that I was looking for ‘wild, rustic and seasonal’ and allowed them to design the flowers. When they arrived the morning of the wedding, they were more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. The flowers perfectly complimented the autumnal colours we picked for the bridesmaids outfits and groomsmen’s bow ties. We have since dried the bouquets and have them hanging in the house as a beautiful display that we can keep forever.

I could not love this Spring wedding more.
Eliza & Richard married at Hampton Manor near Birmingham and it really was the perfect choice for their quirky, Modern Vintage and super stylish day. The sartorial choices are second-to-none whilst being budget-friendly, the florals are delicious and there’s also a couple of furry-friends for you to coo over.
Notes from the Bride
We chose Hampton Manor because it was quirky, stylish and centrally located with excellent road, rail and air links.
Stylistically I’d say overall we embraced a fusion of 1920s with the Glasgow School. I’m originally from Glasgow and wanted hints of Charles Rennie Macintosh’s influence in the design of the flowers and our wedding ‘thrones’ (which we each bought for the other and which now sit in our home, being used every day). I was also mindful of the influence of the season and wanted to incorporate Spring blossom as symbolic of our new start together, so we had lots of cherry blossom sprigs dressing the garden and reception room. We hired event stylists, AVA. Amanda and Amy are just fantastically talented and wonderful to work with.
Our flowers were truly outstandingly beautiful. Again they were chosen with a Macintosh influence, particularly the use of fritillaria in the bouquets. We tried to keep a personal touch (as well as a cost saving) by making our own favours and cake… Richard’s famous fudge, individually wrapped and enclosed in little bird cages were our pretty table favours along with some wild flower seeds… for the bees! We had three different types of cake made by myself and two friends. I tried to copy our wedding invitation design on mine. It was rather ‘rustic’! I think I was most pleased with how the homemade veil looked on the day, it made me feel well, very bridal!
