Hilltop Country House

I don’t know where to start with the words to begin and describe how amazing this venue and the team who run it are!

On our first visit to Hilltop, we fell in love with the surroundings, the gardens, the views, the house, the marquee… just EVERYTHING. We loved the homely and family-run nature of the business.

We subsequently married at Hilltop in late February 2023 and could not have asked for a more perfect venue. Our day was just fabulous from start to finish, and Clare and her team could not have been more accommodating or on hand whenever we needed guidance. Clare was incredible and went out of her way to tailor our wedding to make it how we wanted it and was always on hand whenever we needed her.

The day couldn’t have run more smoothly; the team went above and beyond in every aspect to make our day magical. Our guests cannot stop talking about the venue, the party and the food! Chef Iain changed the menu to accommodate everyone, and we felt like the menu had been made just for us.

The bar, variety of cocktails on offer (thank you to the staff!), and boogie room were all great, and everyone commented on how amazing the venue and atmosphere were.

We have created some incredible memories which will remain with us forever. There is a reason Hilltop has been voted the best wedding venue in Cheshire; we cannot recommend it enough!

We cannot speak highly enough about our whole experience at Hilltop Country House. It’s a family-run business, and you feel welcomed by every member – it’s a lovely, seamless dynamic. The team were simply fantastic from the start to the end. They made the experience fun and took away any stress – this came through in the relaxed nature of the wedding.

We were concerned that it would be cold in the marquee at the start of January, but I can assure you that this was not the case – the temperature was spot on. Iain cooked a fantastic meal; you wouldn’t have known that he was doing it on mass, every piece of lamb was perfectly pink, and we got so many compliments. They also catered amazingly for those who are vegan (again, multiple compliments about the vegan curry) and those with food allergies. The bar staff were super friendly, and it was a big bonus for them to make proper cocktails, including decaffeinated espresso martinis for those who treasure their sleep!

The boogie room worked perfectly, allowing the older generation to chat in the marquee, meaning they stayed to the bitter end. A handful of us could stay at the venue, meaning those with children could put them to bed, knowing they would be safe while they continued to party. It was a bonus having breakfast with those who stayed over, allowing us to reminisce about the night before.

We got married in July at the magical Hilltop. Our wedding was just perfect. The house, garden and marquee look more beautiful than ever, and the outdoor bar and pizza oven are a fantastic addition.

Clare looked after us well and calmed our nerves in the build-up; she is immensely organised and treats each wedding with great care and pride. I cannot praise her enough.

I must also, like every one of my friends that I have seen since we married, say how incredible the food was; they have all repeatedly mentioned how much they loved it. Iain is a fantastic chef.

We were thrilled with the bar’s excellent service and a wide variety of choices, and we loved having our personalised wedding cocktail, such a charming individual touch to our wedding day.

We recommend Hilltop Country House so highly. Your wedding is one of the biggest and most important days of your life, and when you marry at Hilltop, it will be the day you’ve both been dreaming of.

Chris and I would like to say a huge big thanks for all your help and support on our special day. We cannot thank you enough for sharing your beautiful home with us and our guests to make the most magical day.

It felt very touch and go with the weather, and you turned everything around for us, making it feel just as special inside whilst giving us the best opportunity for an outdoor wedding until the last minute. Some of our guests commented how special it felt inside and very intimate even with 100 guests.

We knew from our first visit that this was the venue for us and nothing compared to when we visited other places. We felt so relaxed on every visit and could tell how much you love your home too.

All the staff were so welcoming and helpful at all times. Iain provided us with a menu to suit our tastes, Cameron kept the drinks flowing all night, and Emil kept a check on the music/band, so it all went swimmingly.

The house and the garden are beautiful, and the marquee and boogie room are perfect.

We loved Hilltop so much! Everyone was so helpful, accommodating, flexible, and supportive. They are professionals and amazing people. They will make it the best day for you; they know how. I wish we could do our wedding every year!

So many of our guests commented on the beautiful venue, the warm welcome, the brilliant food and how accommodating your team were.

We are so grateful to everyone who came to Mum’s aid; it was a real team effort to care for her, and we are so thankful that she could continue the day with us. We know Iain must have been worried about the delay with food, but it was just beautiful.

The pizzas were incredible, with many guests saying they were the best they had ever had. One of your staff sent us to bed with the final staff pizza and pints of water – it was very much appreciated!

Cam made our cocktails beautifully, and having a cocktail that we hadn’t been able to taste in years was such a treat! The guests certainly kept the bar team busy, whilst Cam kept Alice well topped up with gin throughout the evening too!

The dance floor was packed all evening, with Emil knowing how to keep the party alive; the atmosphere was magical, surrounded by the smiles of so many family, friends and colleagues.

The day was everything we had wished for and more. We know it won’t be goodbye, as we have plans to come and stay with you in the future, a lovely way to remember and relive some of those memories.

We had the best day ever and couldn’t have done it without you. Everything was so well organised and executed, the day ran so smoothly, and each of our guests had the best day (many people have said the best wedding ever). All the food was absolutely amazing, and thank you for perfectly creating what we hoped for! The dancefloor was packed all night which is exactly what we wanted, and the boogie room was a huge hit-someone said it was like being in a nightclub with all your best friends!

Where do I start!? We had our wedding here in August, and it was just perfect. From the moment we viewed the venue, Clare was attentive, reassuring and calm. She wasn’t pushy and didn’t try and encourage you to hire this, hire that, take yourself over budget etc. She worked with us to ensure we had the perfect day, within our budget and to our liking- giving us tips and tricks along the way. Louie also did a fantastic job at helping us pick our alcohol, and the chef’s food was to die for.

If ever I was worried, had a question or needed to talk, Clare was there.

The day ran so smoothly, and that’s down to every staff member- Clare, Cameron, the servers, Emil the DJ, Liv, the cleaning staff, the bar staff- everyone ( sorry if I’ve missed anyone). I was so nervous in the bridal suite when walking to the aisle, but Clare reassured me it would all be fine… and it was! It was perfect.

I can’t explain the beautiful grounds until you see them in person and the perfect rooms.

Stress-free all around- even when we came downstairs the morning after the wedding, there was a gorgeous breakfast, and everything was tidied up, ready to take home for us.

You won’t regret picking Hilltop if you choose it as your venue- reviews and awards reflect that. Everyone has said how amazing the day was.

I’d also recommend Joe Gardner for your photographer- kind, skilled, non-intrusive and can’t do enough for you!
