Couples were invited to stroll around the breath-taking grounds during this aptly named Winter Wonderland event, Gemma says “Winter Wonderland was quite simply inspired by the wonder of winter weddings. We have a diverse range of buildings on site but our Castle Barn is particularly stunning in winter – warm, inviting and intimate for any group size thanks to the deep red brick and old wooden beams. Whilst you can go to town with the decorations, our spaces are so elegant and simple in their own right. For Winter Wonderland we placed a tealight in the unique arrow slits set into the walls of the Castle Barn and the whole room has a subtle warm glow – it’s a lovely place to be.”
On their visit, guests took in the picturesque 15th Century Parish Church, the contemporary Garden Room and the grand Castle Barn. Couples also previewed some of the 26 boutique bedrooms on-site and the impressive honeymoon suite.
Inspired by the season of sparkle, Winter Wonderland provided inspiration and ideas for couples interested in hosting their own enchanting winter wedding. Wasing Park was dressed to impress, warming hearts with twinkling fairy lights, candles and delightful floral displays. And if that wasn’t enough, guests indulged in seasonal canapés, cocktails and mulled wine.
“Our wonderful suppliers always do us proud, dressing the venue with incredible arrangements.” Gemma continues “All the tables in the Castle Barn were decorated by the florists from Wasing’s trusted suppliers list, showcasing the latest trends from sustainable dried flowers to cute miniature fir trees! We really like to inspire visitors, giving them plenty of ideas for their own special day.”

Wasing Park’s new Bridal Cottage, now available complimentary the night before their wedding, was also available to tour. Perfect for pre-wedding pampering, the Bridal Cottage is set in the beautiful 4,000 acre Wasing Estate. With room for a total of seven guests, there is plenty of space to relax and get a good night’s sleep, without the worry of any additional costs to the wedding budget.
Gemma says “This year we had a lot of interest in our preparation space, Kitts Cottage. This beautiful cottage on the edge of the woodland is moments from the venue, and we offer it for free the night before a wedding for couples who take the Old Estate Rooms package. It sleeps seven, perfect for a bridal party, and means everyone can get ready nice and early in the comfort of a home-from-home.”

Gemma continues “At Winter Wonderland it wasn’t just about the ceremony spaces; we have 26 beautiful bedrooms and the cosy Stables Lodge bar and lounge to explore. The Stables Lodge is a social hub before and after weddings, and during Winter Wonderland is was just as popular. Guests loved relaxing in the bar, wandering the grounds and opening the door on some of the most interesting and unique spaces in Berkshire – we might be biased but they really are different!”
